Oliver really wished Sam had argued. It was a purely selfish reason that he wanted to keep kissing him. He wanted to do more. But he knew there had to be a reason for neither of them pushing the subject right now. Oliver wasn't even telling him everything as it was. Sam knew who he was now, what he was, but he didn't know everything about the article. Before he and Sam got truly serious again, he had to risk Sam running scared from it. He couldn't expect Sam to stay around for something that he didn't know about.
Reaching up, he caressed the side of Sam's face gently. "Why don't we go outside and see what's going on? It seems loud. I'm sure there's better alcohol out there," he said with a forced grin. He was trying to hide his disappointment, especially since he did agree with the other man and it was his idea to both start and stop.
