Oliver smiled but nodded. "Oh, I have to. I'm in the spotlight. I don't show up, people talk of where I was, who I was with. It's easier to just show up, put on the act, then go home," he said with a shrug. He didn't resent it as much as he sounded right now. He resented it right now because it'd only added fuel to the fire later when people found out he was gay, pointing out that he'd been seen with and attached to - supposedly - women in the past. It was less about having to go and more about what his agent told him he had to do while here. Leaning forward, he kissed Sam softly on the lips. "The only reason I'm here tonight is that I have you for company."
