Astoria rolled her eyes. She wasn't an idiot. She wasn't naive enough to have any expectations of marriage. She had realized long ago that her parents and their happiness seemed to be an exception to the rule. And while deep down she had hope that she'd get lucky, it was something she'd never ever admit aloud, not even to herself. "I have very low expectations, actually," she replied evenly, hoping her voice wouldn't betray her annoyance. Daphne's condescending tone only served to irritate her even more after their earlier discussion. It wasn't any of Daphne's business, in the end, and it certainly wasn't her place to be so patronizing. "I'm sure he'll love us for that one," Astoria said with a forced smile. She wasn't very amused anymore even at the thought of Cleon's reaction to their little plan.
She wasn't sure how she'd let Daphne get to her so easily but Astoria was in a terrible mood. Just because her sister didn't know how to have any fun didn't mean she had to ruin it for everyone else. Astoria's eyes narrowed as she glared at no one in particular. She had a feeling she was probably being childish but she didn't care just then. All she wanted was a drink.
