Astoria almost laughed at Daphne's reaction but she actually felt somewhat guilty for scaring her. Her sister looked visibly disturbed. Maybe Astoria had finally lost her mind. She reached up to squeeze Daphne's shoulder reassuringly. "I'm sure they wouldn't let that happen." It was a strange reversal of roles, she thought. Astoria was usually the one who needed reassurance from others even if she wasn't clear in asking for it. And she was the last person to hurt anyone physically.
She shrugged, disappointed by the strained smile. Astoria wasn't particularly interested in settling down for at least a few more years. She was too young and she hadn't even started living her life. Shackling herself to someone who would stifle her and try to keep her at home just to be a "good wife" wasn't what Astoria wanted. She hated the thought. It scared her. Astoria laughed at Daphne's pointed words. She would have never elaborated anyway. "I'll spare you," she said good-naturedly. "I'm sure they'd be convinced that the first man you bring home is the one you're going to marry." And that was also a horrifying thought.
