It could be downright boring staying in that bloody shop day in and day out. He didn’t know how Octavius put up with it. The man had traveled, had a wander lust and he was suppressing it to uphold a barely successful shop to support his spawn. It wasn’t a life that Nicodemus would have chosen. If he got his way and stayed in this body, he would make sure that he got the life that he wanted.
This evening Nicodemus had, had enough of it. He went out to the muggle London, not that muggle or magical mattered much to him. All the mortals were the same. Some just liked to believed that they were a bit more with the parlor tricks that they could do. Going into a bar, he had chatted up an attractive little minx that had been all too willing to respond to Octavius’ good looks and charm. The man had a great deal going for him. It was a shame that he wasted it.
Nicodemus had lured the woman from the bar and into a back alley. Things had been hot and heavy for a bit between them for a few moments but it didn’t take long for the passion and heat to turn into something dangerous and violent. Really it was a fine line between the two and with the wrong sort of person-which Nicodemus was-it was assured that the fine line would be crossed. He could still remember the feel of Octaivus’ hands around the woman’s neck, squeezing the life out of her. It had been a slow death, a bloodless death but there had been a thrill at watching the life in her eyes drain away. In the back of his mind, Nicodemus could feel Octavius screaming and straining against his hold as he had killed the woman.
The night wasn’t over yet though. Knowing what a rise he had gotten out of Octavius from killing a stranger, he thought of the lovely Lavender from Octavius’ shop. Looking at the time, he realized that she should be leaving the shop by now. It might be fun to follow her. She had been trying to avoid him since he had forced that kiss on her. She couldn’t avoid him for long though, he would make sure she realized that.
