RP: I got you all figured out; you need everyone's eyes just to feel seen...
Date: December 29, 2000
Characters: Mandy & Tracey
Location: Ministry of Magic
Public/Private: Private
Summary: An encounter after Mandy sends Tracey homemade chocolates for Christmas when Mandy has to go in for some paperwork.
Status: Complete
Mandy pulled at her robes, feeling straight in regular black robes. At the sanctuary, she wore what was custom, which didn't always include plain black. She could stick a color or two in her wardrobe or even get away with muggle clothes if she risked it. She didn't risk it often, but these were cold. Wearing a sweater or heavy winter cloak over her robes was normal at the sanctuary in the winter while wearing sometimes that would protect you if a dragon attacked some was custom in the summer. It was like they had someone telling them what "fashion" was in correspondence with the weather.
She stepped off the lift and sighed heavily. This wasn't the right floor! Turning around the lift was already shutting, leaving her behind, a bit lost. Could she take the stairs? Was there any stairs? She had no idea. Threading her fingers through her brown hair, she sighed again. It was best to wait for a lift again and this time get off at the right floor. Turning her back on the department at large, she vaguely her words about Germany and Denmark. Looking over her shoulder, she frowned, realizing suddenly she was in the Department of International Relations.
Great, she thought to herself, At least it's not the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Still, she clutched the paperwork she had to drop off in the Department of Magical Creatures, and kept her eyes on the lift, praying for it or another to reopen. She hated this place, dreaded any time she had to come in. One person yelled at someone, who made a pitiful attention to plea their case, it made her want to turn around and tell them to shut up. The person didn't deserve that! But her back remained on them, her knuckles turning white as she gripped the file to her abdomen.
