One thing I do miss about home is family all throwing in their lot together for things like Halloween, hanging out, yelling at each other in Italian... the closest thing is hearing Mrs Acuna when she's speaking Spanish at tutoring and that's nothing like the same. At least it's a lovely sounding language, though.

Would it help if the people speaking Spanish raised their voices? Although... I don't ever yell. Hm.

Nah, Italian's got its own lilt. Thanks, though.

I don't speak Italian either, but I know what you mean. I didn't realize how you can start to miss a language until I came here. It's not something I notice much, but language effects the entire atmosphere of everything.

I mean, we're literally bilingual so it's not like I can't communicate here, but... Italian families have their own special vibe. Especially New Yorker Italian families.

I'm sure you won't have trouble finding someone at this school who is willing to yell at you.

Kidding.

I hope you're not too homesick.

Ha ha...

I'll cope. It's just weird... New York is such a loud and busy place. Utah? Utah is not.

Yeah I know that feeling. First week of school's hard for me to not just default on back into French.

I mean, my family's totally bilingual so it's not like I can't cope, but... we do slip into Italian when we're excited or mad. Which is a lot and I miss it.

But finally someone gets the vibe I'm going for here. It sucks, man.
