WHO: Susana Velasquez and Hazel Keating
WHEN: March 8, late, after this
WHERE: Their cabin
WHAT: Comfort. Definite comfort.
Warnings: Not really. They shouldn't have dirty mouths but maybe they'll surprise us so beware!!!

It had been quite a week for Ana. She was preparing for the Quidditch match, knowing there would be scouts there and that it was an important game. Ilvermorny was not a team to be taken lightly, after all. Her own game against Ebonhide had not gone quite as she had hoped. Yes, they'd won, but the beginning of the game had been rough. Ana wasn't quite sure what had gotten into her. She wasn't ever frazzled, not about Quidditch at least, yet she had spent the beginning of the game not at her best. It was a blow for sure, but at least the rest of her team had been in top form and had pulled it out in the end. Once it was over, though, she couldn't help but wonder why Thorn had picked her for the school team at all. Maybe she wasn't ready. Maybe she didn't have the experience after all. Hadn't it shown during the game that someone older could play keeper better? Kazim had been on his game, had known things that she hadn't thought to do.

Those worries had plagued her since the game ended, which was why she found herself running late for curfew. She had been working extra since the game, not wanting to make mistakes like that against Ilvermorny, which meant things like homework and studying often ran off schedule too. Of course, after everything she'd just endured in the woods, Ana wasn't exactly thinking about  Quidditch for once. Her heart still felt like it was going to beat right out of her chest, even though she'd stopped running awhile ago. She could still feel the icy chill along her spine as the two figures turned to her at the same time, could still feel the spike of pure fear that had shot through her. Ana was huddled under blankets now to combat these feelings, having thrown herself into Hazel's bed once she'd thrown the journal up.

"Do you think they'd let me play Quidditch from here?"

When Ana had first arrived back at their cabin Hazel was mostly relieved because she didn't want her best friend to get in trouble for breaking curfew, but she quickly realized there was more to be glad about. Like, the fact that Ana hadn't gotten caught up in whatever Anon fight she had seen going on in the woods. Immediately she had sprung into action, glad Ana made herself at home in her bed while she made a thermos of instant hot chocolate and collected Joe Montana for a cuddle session. Her mind the whole while was racing, trying to make sense of what the fight could have been about, and how to best comfort the other Coppertale girl.

Hazel is now curled up next to Ana, sipping occasionally from their hot chocolate and offering it to her friend fairly often as well. She's set Joe Montana on her companion and he's already asleep.

"You'd be pretty far from the goal," Hazel quips, her tone a little lackluster. She's obviously worried about Susana. "...hey, um. Do you want to talk about what happened? It's ok if you don't. I just don't know if that'll help any."

There were times when Ana was really grateful to have a best friend like Hazel. After rushing into the cabin like the hounds of hell were on her heels (which they very well might have been, actually) was one of them. Hazel had sprung into action immediately, as she always did, and Ana was just barely settled in the bed before Joe was being placed on her and hot chocolate was being prepared.

As they sat together now, Ana feels a little bit better. The cold fear has mostly dissipated, replaced with the warmth from the hot chocolate, tiny Joe, and Hazel. Maybe no ghosts are coming after her, after all.

"True. But then I wouldn't run into anymore...whatevers." Ana still isn't sure what Brother and 2 are, and she isn't really in the mood to be politically correct. "I don't know," she muses, sighing as she takes another sip. "I still can't believe it happened at all. I never thought I'd actually see them."

Though her friend is definitely improving... Hazel can't help but still look pretty concerned. She's chewing on her lip when she's not drinking hot chocolate. After Ana speaks she lets out a short and sharp sign, reaching to lightly pet Joe Montana.

"It's pretty weird, right? I mean.. I saw one of them, that one time. Who knows which one of them it was, but...it's super weird. I don't know, Suse. I'm glad nothing else happened since Brother was there, but maybe we should be more careful? Just, you know. Not go alone places after dark. 2 wouldn't do anything to us, but..." She shrugs slowly.

"...you didn't hear anything they were saying, did you?"

It's hard not to be shaken still. What if they had, like, tried to take her? Like Ulysses. Ana couldn't imagine something like that. It was hard to even wrap her mind around something wanting to hurt them, either. Things like that shouldn't be happening. The worst was just being scared. Right?

"I know you did. I guess I just never thought I was the person they'd appear to?" It had seemed so removed when others talked about seeing them. Now that she saw them herself...well. "I think that's a good idea. I don't want to think 2 would hurt us, but Isabelle and Ari might have a point on being more careful," she muses with a sigh. "I wasn't trying to wander. I've just been so slammed with the game coming up," she adds apologetically.

She shakes her head slowly, looking uncomfortable and disappointed all at once. "No. I just saw them, and I got the impression they were arguing with the way they were facing each other." Sighing, she looks at Hazel. "I can't believe Cole heard Larke saying they were at the dance."

Hazel is occasionally petting Susana's hair as they sit. SHE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU ANA.

"Yeah. I just... It's crazy you saw both of them. I wish they would have been like... talking louder, though, so we actually knew what they were fighting about. I hope 2 isn't in too much trouble. And I don't blame you at all for being out late, Suse. Sometimes that happens... but we'll go places together now, yeah?" She smiles somewhat convincingly and takes a sip of her hot chocolate. Maybe she should start carrying around a Beater's bat.

"I know, what the shit," Hazel murmurs in response to the comment on the dance. She does (sort of) trust 2, but it makes the whole masquerade seem a lot more insidious - what if Brother had come? She's not so certain he doesn't want to hurt them. "At least that anonymity charm isn't going to be, like, a regular thing, but... I don't know. It doesn't make me feel very good."

While typically not an overly snuggly person, Ana is quite enjoying the extra attention at the moment. HAZEL IS THE BEST WIFEY, OKAY.

"Right? I'm so curious, but I couldn't hear a thing," she muses, biting her lip as she remembers the way the figures just...turned. In unison. Shivering a little, she nestles closer to Hazel. "I don't mind you coming places with me. I just feel like a baby." What if Hazel gets kidnapped like Ulysses? Heck, what if she got kidnapped like Ulysses. Taking a long swig out of her mug, she sighs. When did their school get so weird?

Ana shakes her head at the thought, her best friend's words summing it up nicely. "It's so creepy. One of them, at least, was there. With us." Running a hand over Joe, she shudders again. "What if it like, kissed someone or something?"

Letting out a bit of a sigh, Hazel rearranges herself so she's lying down a bit more, still keeping the hot chocolate upright. "Don't feel like a baby, Suse. We gotta watch out for each other, you know? This shit is kinda scary and we don't know what Brother might do."

For whatever reason she's completely convinced that she'd never be taken, but the idea of losing any one of her friends, especially Susana, has her scowling. "Nothing wrong with being a bit more careful. And... yeah. I mean, it sounds like it was 2 at the dance, but it means that Brother could have come, too. What if he wanted to hurt someone? The teachers were there, sure, but... he could have done something before anyone realized it. And I mean... I just feel bad if he kissed someone and whoever it was liked it?? I guess?"
