Questions, questions, questions.
How was the party? Did everyone have a good time? Did I miss anything?

[Warded to Quinn]

How was your night? How was Ty?

[Warded to Prefects]
Opinions on the system? Did it work? Do we need to make any adjustments?

[Warded to Ty, added later]
You didn't tell her.

Prefects / i'm too lazy to bold tag everything so rafael's getting two comments. Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

I wasn't planning on drinking much regardless of volunteering so chaperoning wasn't unbearable. I wouldn't have minded a break midway through the evening, thoughβ€”could we include the option to sub in another prefect for an hour while we take a breather, or even just to let another chaperone know that they should be extra vigilant for a little bit?

There were a lot fewer antics than we've seen at previous parties. [...] That was probably more a result of the week everyone's had than the new rules.

And while we're on it, what is with students and the woods? What part of "Stay away from the treeline" doesn't make sense?!

Prefects

I don't see a problem with that. Although it will require "off duty" prefects to not get wasted. Although I think most of us don't drink very much anyway.

I also think we should make some system for rotating through prefects who have to chaperone at parties. I know I will be fine if I am always on duty... but you might not like it if you're always stuck being the babysitter.

I think we'll see more of that after Ulysses' disappearance. Some people will be even more fascinated.

Or at least to delay their heavy drinking for a couple of hours.

A rotating schedule sounds reasonable to me; I know I'd rather not abstain every time there's a party (I do enough babysitting at home...)

Shouldn't they be more cautious as well? Like those four students Downing and I caught coming out of the Grotto this weekβ€”how can that sound like literally anything except a seriously bad idea?

I agree with these suggestions. I don't mind being on duty all the time either, but... it did become unexpectedly time-consuming, trying to make sure no one was sneaking into the woods or going off alone. Never mind that I did both of those things last night

Anyway, it's a little stressful, having to be vigilant for five hours. Thank God nothing happened, but... I don't know, maybe we can ask for volunteers? People we trust who are willing to limit their drinking and also help keep an eye out, so it doesn't feel like it's eight of us watching half the school.

Prefects
[info]choneychurch

Well, there are twenty-six Prefects (including Maggie and me); last night we only used sixteen. Maybe we should just have three Prefects per house at the party and let them rotate as needed, with two being active at any given time? I'd worry that bringing in other students might be met with some hostility and a sense of 'playing favorites'?

But I think you and Quinn have a point; the last thing we want is for people to get burned out. This is important and we all need to do the best we can.

Levi and Ty weren't abducted which means the handcuffs are clearly a success. How can we not make this a tradition?

Like I said in the prefects' ward, it was fine; even uneventful, as Grotto parties go. I focused on rolling my eyes, shaking my head, and holding back sophomores' hair. Hopefully yours was more exciting?

As for Ty [...] I may have handed a wasted squirrel to Tremblay at the end of the night. (I may also be in the library at this very moment to find out if there's an equivalent of splinching for animagi.) He was his usual energetic self with 25% more bounce! When he rolls out of bed you should trade him a big (big) glass of water for the sundry details of his handcuffed Quidpong game.

It [...] was different from yours. But it was very good, yes.

[...] Oh, I will be sure to give him water. And talk to him. That sounds like he had a very good time. That's good. He didn't tell y So you are doing research to keep our favorite squirrel from hurting himself? How is that going?

(Handcuffed Quidpong is stupid to me. I think I may be joyless.)

Nice.

Certainly seemed that way. If Transforming Under the Influence was a really bad idea I'm sure Rhee would have mentioned it in Animagus Studies, but it still seems kind of [...] dangerous to me? Or at least risky. I've decided to worry until a peer-reviewed article tells me otherwise. So far, no dice.

(Of course it was stupid, it was Kramer's idea.)

I've been working on a draft of your eulogy. Please provide me with thoughtful feedback.
When we think back on the life of Ulysses Quayle, there is so much that he didn't get to do, and yet, there were so many amazing things he did accomplish during his short but amazing life. Like that time he survived being lost in the woods overnight and had to rely only on nothing but his wits and rugged good looks. Or the time he fought a bear and won. Or the time he trounced everyone at kayaking with he help of a beautiful yet fearsome woman.

Truly, we are all being robbed of a great man. Had he lived, he would have very likely defeated the ghost in the woods single handedly, and brought Ebonhide many victories by making every single goal in every game from here on out.
...After that I just get too emotional to continue. If anyone has any more suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.
