roxie barringer doesn't turn on the red light ([info]tightwire) wrote in [info]gooseberry,

Apparently, I have deeply shamed our (questionably) good family name by having only ever invited friends back home when it's the holidays and we have the Big Top broken down.

My mother insists that we put on an utterly poor show of it - and, furthermore, that it's completely ridiculous for someone who lives in a traveling show to have friends that have never even been to a real circus before. And while I can't exactly argue with her, I honestly hadn't really thought too much about it.

So consider Gooseberry informally invited to Nox during Spring Break.

And free funnel cake. Ibu said to add that.

And candy floss. If that seals the deal.

In a manner of speaking. And he's always telling me I'm his favorite, so I'd be insulted if he disagreed.

Honestly I was sold at "circus" so all the junk food is just icing.

So I don't even need to use the giant spider?

Good to know.

Wait, no, tell me about the giant spider! I'm interested!

Well, Claudius likes terribly cliché love poems and undercooked steak.

What kind of things does a giant spider have to talk about? This isn't a rhetorical question, I'm curious. He likes poetry? Do you have to read it to him?

A lot. He loves talking. Sometimes, I read to him. But mostly he dictates and I have to use my tiny, human fingers to write things down for him.

Mostly he recites them, though. The poems. Has his own tent for it.

I'm pretty sure most of the no-majs think he's animated. No, not animated. That's for drawings. Anamatronic? A fancy robot. Something like yours, I guess. But with a speaker? My aunt says they have them at no-maj theme parks.
