It's literally having a piece of them with you all the time. And you have to think about how dedicated you'd both be to both agree to do something like that. And the process of drawing the blood? You'd have to do it together, step by step.

Hm nope. He's giving it to his father who has a knife for a hand to prove I'm human or something. Or to clone me, but I'm pretty sure that was just Trixie's ulterior motive.

I dunno. I don't get these weird romantic gestures. Which is probably gonna become a problem for me in the future? Maybe I've just had my blood drawn too much that it's made the idea sterile but I don't buy into it. Love is fragile. Right now you could be in love with somebody who is already on their way to developing dementia, where one day, the memories they have of you will deteriorate so far they won't know who you are. Or the same blood pumping through their hearts could become so toxic it kills them. Taking a part of their body to symbolize love feels shallow when their own body could end that love for you in twenty years.

I don't understand why people give each other plants that are already dead either. So hopefully I can just coast through Having feelings a different way. Like by giving them sensible shit. Like highlighters.

I think you'll be okay, Chris. The trick is finding someone who thinks the same stupid shit is romantic that you do. I don't think being sensible feels romantic to me, you know? It's just reminding me of obligations, or what I'm not doing, or that I need to get my act together and be... more grounded. It's not me.

yeah but sensible probably means different shit to different people. It's not always about notes and homework you should be doing. It's just shit you need. That's probably what I do

I dunno if I'd call it romantic though. I don't think that exists for me

Tho to totally kill the idea of blood vials my mom keeps telling me that when she dies, she's gonna be cremated and put into four necklace lockets and worn around her children's necks. Which is also weird as fuck to me.

It's a thing you do when you want to express to someone that you have romantic feelings so... it's romantic by definition? And someone out there probably feels the same and you'll give them something they really need and it'll really touch their heart. You're being too hard on yourself. Romance doesn't have to be flowers. It can be a highlighter, or blood necklaces. As long as the two people are both into it, then it's perfect.

..... Okay, so I think that's sweet, too, I'M SORRY.
