PATRONUS STUDY SESSION

Ms. Lilywhite has been teaching a section on casting Patronuses. Every year, she allows non-DADA students to attend extra study sessions she holds after dinner, because she believes a well-formed Patronus is an important life skill. It’s… not, probably, but who’s going to argue with her?

HOW THIS WORKS
If your character attends these sessions or takes DADA, they will at least learn what their patronus will be and will get a partial formation. The mods will roll to see if your character can cast a successful full-bodied patronus.

Occlumency students are presumed to already be well-versed with this spell, as it requires emotional control and self-awareness, which are invaluable skills in Occlumency, especially if you plan on becoming an Auror. Unless you choose otherwise, all Occlumency students automatically succeed, or can already cast the charm.

Occlumency students: Automatic success.
Seniors in DADA: 75% success.
Seniors not in DADA: 50% success.
Juniors in DADA: 65% success.
Juniors not in DADA: 40% success.
Sophomores in DADA: 55% success.
Sophomores not in DADA: 30% success.

Name: Kenzie Prince
Year: Junior
Patronus Form: Spotted Hyena
Why?: Hyena symbolize cunning, brute strength, aggressive laughter, feminine power, close bonds with friends and family, and a need for fun and adventure. It's a lot of Kenzie's potential or Kenzie at her best, with that hint at her being a mean jokester and way too aggressive.

Some random quotes: "Contrary to popular belief, hyenas are not always scavengers, and are, in fact, very accomplished hunters indeed. As such, people with a Hyena totem are actually quite brave and intelligent. They are hard workers, loyal friends, and fiercely devoted lovers, sometimes to the point that they can become somewhat emotionally dependent on their partners (which is not always a bad thing)."

"She knows when to use your "teeth" in situations. She will help balance the power of ferocity with a caring. Is it time to be strong and stand up? Truth need to be said? Large projects and endeavors may best be done in groups so cooperation is key. Are you part of the team? She gives lessons in discrimination and discernment so listen carefully to your instincts, intuition and perceptions. Family is emphasized. Is it time to hunt or relax? Hyena shows how to adapt to any situation by singing your own song of internal strength and power."
Their happy memory: When her grandfather was still well enough and she was about to turn 11, he took her on a walk along the beach and told her the history of the Princes. He then gave her the family wand, and told her she would make him and all of their predecessors very proud.
Their attempt: Kenzie's an accomplished student and works hard, and he control over her emotions is pretty good. However, she doesn't get along terribly well with Ms. Lilywhite, who has no patience for her irreverence.
