PATRONUS STUDY SESSION

PATRONUS STUDY SESSION

Ms. Lilywhite has been teaching a section on casting Patronuses. Every year, she allows non-DADA students to attend extra study sessions she holds after dinner, because she believes a well-formed Patronus is an important life skill. It’s… not, probably, but who’s going to argue with her?

HOW THIS WORKS

If your character attends these sessions or takes DADA, they will at least learn what their patronus will be and will get a partial formation. The mods will roll to see if your character can cast a successful full-bodied patronus.

Occlumency students are presumed to already be well-versed with this spell, as it requires emotional control and self-awareness, which are invaluable skills in Occlumency, especially if you plan on becoming an Auror. Unless you choose otherwise, all Occlumency students automatically succeed, or can already cast the charm.

Occlumency students: Automatic success.
Seniors in DADA: 75% success.
Seniors not in DADA: 50% success.
Juniors in DADA: 65% success.
Juniors not in DADA: 40% success.
Sophomores in DADA: 55% success.
Sophomores not in DADA: 30% success.

Fill out this form if your character takes Occlumency or attends the extra study sessions:
Name:
Year: Sophomore/Junior/Senior
Patronus Form: It can change from the last time we asked you, but this will be your official “canon” answer.
Why?: What does this animal mean, or why is it significant to them?
Their happy memory: What memory finally worked for them?
Their attempt: Any other notes on how it went for them?
Are they in DADA or Occlumency?: This contributes to the likelihood of their success.

Diego fails to cast a full bodied patronus.

He also had the worst RNG result out of any character I rolled for so far. What is this madness???

it's honestly fascinating to me how bad his luck is. i keep thinking ONE OF THESE DAYS HIS LUCK WILL TURN AROUND AND HE'LL KNOCK IT OUT OF THE PARK.

that has yet to happen.

Oh my god Diego what is your life

Chris also made it weird by telling him that it was a good effort.

A series of embarrassing failures and miscalculations APPARENTLY

Diego awkwardly accepted the praise and made a joke about how his patronus is probably a turkey or a pelican.

Chris would assure him that a pelican's probably better than producing literally bambi, if that helps.

Don't worry, Diego! Cecil failed with you.

(You two aren't allowed in the woods anymore, jeeze.)

These two muscle bound athletes without a single survival instinct between them. PATHETIC, BOYS.

Getting to laugh about failing at it with Cecil made him feel a little better about things, though.

For real.

Cecil will definitely go console Diego if he sees him looking down. He's a little disappointed he didn't get it, just because he doesn't like letting down the teachers, but he's not too torn up. Nobody's good at everything, Diego! Definitely time to laugh at how hopeless they are~ ♥

High five~ ♥

Diego was a little frustrated because ugh these emotional balance exercises are hard, especially right now. But seeing Cecil's able to shrug it off encourages him to do the same. Everyone will just have to deal with the two of them not being perfect paragons today!
