HEAD BOY AND GIRL DROPBOX
The following is an announcement from Katie and Ali, who the mods would like to thank for their hard work:

Following Cecil's post about bullying on the journals, Cecil and Maggie collaborated to create a warded dropbox where students can report incidents of bullying on or off the journals, located here.

Cecil and Maggie may notify students of their upcoming detention (via the journals or in person), but regardless there will be a post every Friday by Cecil or Maggie that details: who has detention, where detention will occur, how long detention will last, and what the students with detention will be doing. This post will be public so everyone can know just what they're getting into if they break the rules, but be careful! Harassing the students that got detention can be a good way to end up there yourself.

The dropbox has three forms: the in-character form (for students that want to report other students in-game), the out-of-character form (for players who want to help out Katie and Ali by pointing out incidents that might be missed since Cecil and Maggie are trying to keep an eye on things as well as they can), and the dispute form (for students that get detention and want to argue their case!).

If you've got any questions, post them here or email Katie and Ali!

Cecil is hoping he'll get to post a lot of blank Friday detention lists, so be good students of Gooseberry! A week without detention may result in baked goods for all!
The mods are also on hand for questions (please excuse us if we're slow later in the day)! ♥

If detentions start getting excessive (more than 3 people every week, the same person in detention every time, etc.) the staff will sit down with Cecil and Maggie and ask for an explanation. If it's determined that the Head Girl or Boy is getting carried away, they may end up getting in trouble themselves, or having their detention-giving powers removed temporarily or permanently.

The same policy applies to prefects, who don't have detention giving powers, but can get in trouble for giving or taking too many points.

Honestly, if it gets that bad, I imagine Cecil will be going to Mr. Merrill himself because nothing seems to work and he'd be getting frustrated and uncertain about everything. He really doesn't like taking things this far to begin with, but...here we are? But yeah, Cecil agrees that they need to be accountable too. Hence the option to dispute which (per his original post) could go as far as the Heads of House if people think they're being unfair.

Cecil's always welcome to talk to the teachers about what's going on, even if things aren't that bad yet. Or hopefully ever! ... Although Mr. Merrill's a softie who will probably just feel like Cecil does about this. ("Why can't everyone just be nice?!")

Additionally, if someone's feeling particularly upset over any incident, they can go to the game dropbox and approach a teacher directly.

Does anyone wanna mini-plot lost or gained house points? Because I've never IC had either of my prefects dole out or take house points away, but I know for damn sure that they have.

As far as my prefects go, Ree probably gives more than she takes away and she gives them for reasons like "that is an amazing doodle, two points to Ebonhide," but she'll only take them away for real genuine reasons. MOSTLY BULLYING Y'ALL.

Gabi only ever gives points. EVER. And she gives them out like candy because she loves you all so much.

I cannot imagine any of mine get into enough trouble to lose points often? They're all so boring. Except Ree, who knows how to keep her trouble managable.

quinn took a bunch away from some DANGEROUS SOPHOMORES

AND SHE'D DO IT AGAIN

IC that's the only time. i think she takes away more than she gives bc she's like "wow you followed the rules way to go that's the most basic thing we ever asked of you." but i'd have to think about it more

she definitely takes points away for small things like uniform violations because those rules are NOT hard to follow

I think IC Rosy's ever taken like five points and it was because Micah was pissing her off, but I wouldn't be surprised if she's taken five from literally everyone in the junior class. Or sophomore? Or...maybe even the seniors. Basically if you want to say Rosy has taken a couple points from you for pissing her off you can.

And why would Nate ever need to give or take points when he's with Cricket and Maggie all the time. That seems like an awfully confrontational thing to do.

Surprise bitch! Cricket is actually the point giver and Jesse is the point taker.

"Bruh, you look busted. Fix your shit. You're embarrassing your house. 5 points from Coppertale."

Also, this is so cute and extra (as a compliment). Like, I've never been in a game where players cared this much. I've been in so many War Era games where people are just like, "oh yeah, so and so died." D:

Please never stop caring this much!

am i correct to assume that the detention list is a physical, posted list? or is it a journal entry? (are characters able to comment?)
