Nah, she wasn't boring. I wasn't in true love and ready to propose or anything, but it wasn't because I was looking for a way out. The getting caught in the moment bit might, uh, be right though. I'm just too much like my mom. At least she never cheated, though.

This is bullshit, but fine, so... She's really unreliable, and just kind of does whatever she wants. And I love her, but all she ever does is upset people. So, you know, maybe at the end of the day it's gonna be nature over nurture.

Say it "larp." It's easier. And yes, we usually are. Immersion is easier because of all the forest, but sometimes people rebel and try to make cyberpunk happen.

Like half-acting, half-video game, actually! A lot of it is improv, but there are rules for what your character can or can't do depending on your class, race and abilities. It's not as limiting as it sounds! I mean, having rules for what magic spells you have and what they do is what lets you have magic spells in the first place, you know?

Maybe you didn't know what you were doing at the time, but you know it now. You regret it. Do you trust that you can keep it from ever happening again?

Some people would say guitar sounds complicated. The nice thing about LARP is that you can't really make mistakes. Everything you do just helps create the story.

But you don't want to hurt people. Is it really that hard to stop yourself?

Music just takes time and lots of hands-on practice. That's interesting about LARP, though. What's a mistake you made in it?

It is when you can't get yourself to stop and think. Whenever I fuck up, I tell myself, alright, Diego, next time we're going to stay calm and think it through. And then the moment happens and I just don't. I've never been this bad before, though. Maybe it's a wake-up call?

I... This is embarrassing. At the beginning of sophomore year, my paladin had a flirtation with an Ebonhide's death priestess. It was a forbidden love story, and very tragic and tumultuous. The Ebonhide girl ended up taking "our" relationship pretty seriously, and it hurt her feelings when I didn't want to continue doing it outside of the campaign.

Why weren't you calm? When you.. you know.

Yes, I suppose it does. Emotions get very heightened. But not to me, after that one time. I try to be clear about my boundaries as it develops, and the people in LARP now know I don't date.

No... I don't know. We all want to be wanted, don't we? And when we're not getting what we need from the places we want it from, we're forced to look in other places. Sometimes these can be the wrong places.

I... I usually say it's because I need to focus on my studies. I have a 3.8 GPA, and then after that, the Healer program is very demanding.

I was... upset last year. Tabitha was so heartbroken by what you did, and she's one of my best friends and has never been unkind to anyone. But you weren't trying to hurt her. You're telling the truth when you say you're sorry and regret what you did.
