Hey all! This is Katie again, current player of Cecil Honeychurch (choneychurch), and I've just added another character to my roster. Because what's self-control?

Anyway! This is Casper Kim. He's the son of an Auror that had a bad run in with a Dark wizard, leaving her physically and verbally non-responsive and a tiny bit mutilated. Needless to say, he's been struggling to cope with that for a long time and is an unhappy guy with a lot of anger. Normally, he's fairly composed (if sarcastic and negative as hell) and vents the worst of his feelings playing Quidditch, Dueling, and listening to/playing very loud punk rock music, though he can have a pretty sharp tongue at times too. He wants to be an Auror, both so he can learn enough about the Dark Arts to help his mother and because he'd like to put the hurt on some Dark wizards, so he's largely preoccupied with DADA.

Because the universe has a sort of mean sense of humor, he's also a Parselmouth and there were some ugly rumors around Gooseberry during his freshman year as a result. Mostly of the 'you know who's a Dark wizard?' variety. While these have mostly died down, there are still quite a few students around that would remember it. There's a mention of an older Ribbonfin type that kept him from totally losing his shit over that in his application, so if anyone's interested in having a character take that role, just let me know and we can discuss!

If anyone would like to plot or whatnot, just give me a poke here or via my drop box!

uh okay, so chris and casper are in different houses and different years but i feel like they're super similar? Except casper's reason for his anger has a great deal more cause. Plus they're both beaters, and due to their anger and positions, games between ebonhide and coppertail get pretty gruesome possibly?

Ether way - they sharing duelling club, and Chris drops in on the junior occlumency class basically every day. And this has nothing to do with plot - but because chris is one of the youngest in his class and Casper is nearly a year older than his - Casper's actually half a month older than Chris lol

So back on point - it's late, i'm tired, this is all over the place

I'd say either they're friends, or they violently dislike eachother? I feel like it's hard for two angry dudes to not cross paths in a school this small, y'know?

There are a lot of parallels for these two, yeah! Which, like you said, could mean either friendship or friction. I like the idea of these two being friends or at least having a sort of respect for each other, though? When they clash, they probably clash hard, but it doesn't seem like that would happen terribly often unless Chris just doesn't take well to his Casper's complaining. ~~And Casper wants to win your mean cat, Chris.~~

Also, I think you're probably right about Quidditch. XD Ebonhide probably never wins the match, but THERE WILL BE BLOOD. Or, you know, at least lots of people getting knocked clean off their brooms.

aghh so he and laurel probably won't get along ? i mean, they might, i juuuust picked her up so no clue really .-. she's fairly easygoing but is probably the type who'd fire back at him if he got too negative or sarcastic with her, and generally they have totally different vibes so :s there's that. something like that.

zoey, on the other hand, might actually kinda like him. she's super calm & doesn't rattle easily, so any anger and sarcasm probably bounces right off lol .-. though if he's real aggressive on the quidditch pitch she might respond there. she would definitely be the type to discourage rumors about the dark arts stuff no matter where/when, however. shit's not cool.

Prooobably not. Which is a shame, because Laurel is adorable. Mainly, I think Casper might be put off by her inability to take things seriously and likely just sees her as being overly frivolous/upbeat. And if she she'd snap back at him...well. ;) Game on. He does have a 'damsel in distress' mode, though, so if she ever really needed help or if someone else was giving her a hard time, he might step in. For what that's worth.

As to Zoey, sounds like things between them might be smoother. He'd definitely expect mutual aggression on the Quidditch pitch, so he wouldn't hold that against her, and if she can put up with his attitude they're likely okay. Also, anyone who's anti-Dark Arts rumors gets points in his book. Additionally, I spoke with Meggie about Casper being a sort of backup drummer available for their band as needed, so she might have some interaction with him through that as well. He'll always huff at their boring choice of music, but he probably actually likes being involved from time to time.

Addy might be a little too upbeat for Casper generally speaking, but how he reacts to her will largely have to do with how well she tolerates his negativity. If it rolls off her, he'll probably be okay with her most of the time. The dialed-down version would likely help too.

That said, he's appreciative of anyone that doesn't react well to the Dark wizard rumors, so have some quiet gratitude, Addy!

YAY CASPER

So we talked a little about Casper and Diego and their shared musical interest. And Casper is probably one of those people Diego is really focused on MAKING. SURE. HE. LIKES. HIM. Diego is really nonconfrontational though and doesn't feed into peoples' tempers... although he can definitely be irritating. For instance, Casper, snakes are super cool!!!

Reid and Casper share some classes, and have similar dispositions, except Reid's not an angry guy. If they could manage to get a conversation going, they might get along alright?

Calvin is a year below him in a different house, and he's... somewhat morbidly fascinated by the parselmouth dark wizard thing, because it has some deeper implications to him. Calvin has relatives that either died in the war or are in Azkaban right now, although his immediate family is well behaved. He's not brave enough to bring it up, but he totally stares at Casper sometimes. (But to be fair, he might also be staring because Casper is so, so pretty.)

Haha! Oh Diego. ;) GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. Likely, Casper gets along with Diego when he's not trying too hard, but gets a little frustrated when he's pushing for attention or approval or whatnot. Also, he SCOWLS and says that if Diego thinks snakes are so cool, he can arrange for a few to visit his cabin. Idle threats are idle~

Reid and Casper strike me as two guys who could easily know each other for three years and never say more than a few words to each other. 'Good match' and that sort of thing. But if they did get talking, yeah, I could see them getting along. Something to play out sometime, maybe?

Oh Calvin. Where to start! If Casper knows that he's got Dark wizards in the family, he's likely a little hostile (even if he realizes that isn't really fair) and try to avoid him. If he doesn't and he sees him staring, he's likely to be a little defensive and just stare back until Calvin either says something, stops, or leaves. So, sort of awkward either way. I'd be interested to play them together, though, and see what happens! (XD Poor Calvin if that's why. Mean ol' Casper, even if he is pretty.)

Diego is into those desert reptiles, but forest reptiles ARE PRETTY SWEET, TOO, CASPER. Diego's accidentally insensitive a lot but he will TRY to remember to never mention the parseltongue thing.

Yes, for sure! I'd be curious to see how it'd go. :)

It's not a secret Calvin's got some unfortunate blood ties, so if you want Casper to know, he can. Uh, he's pretty distant from the Bulstrodes at this point, who never did anything that bad anyway. BUT his mom is a full blooded Avery, and they were t i g h t with Voldemort. Calvin's mom not so much, and Calvin may be a little brat sometimes, but he honestly doesn't have a Dark bone in his body. EITHER WAY SOUNDS LIKE A FUN AWKWARD TIME FOR THESE TWO.

Katya is a junior in DADA and Occulmency because she's going to end up a Hitwitch or something she just doesn't realize it yet. It's one of those huh I'm taking all of these classes I wonder what I can do with it. She's drawn to the whole find a way to protect my family because her father was killed because he was a wizard basically so she kind of wants to go and bash faces in because of it. Not that...many people know of that BUT that's a thing. She's also a big fan of punk music but she leans toward the whole horror punk scene but same general idea. There's a lot of overlap here apparently that I didn't think about until I was writing.

As for Trixie, she is a bit hyperactive and crazy scientist type so they may get along. I don't know, she tries! She'd be the one going sweet ass snake mouth, she doesn't have a lot of tact.

~~Be still, his beating heart.~~ Vast differences in disposition and rival houses aside, these two are kind of peas in a pod, aren't they? In a terrible, enduring trauma sort of way. I think there's potential for an interesting dynamic in that and it seems like Katya and Casper might get along in a way that's semi-inexplicable to other people. If nothing else, DADA/Occlumency friends? But yay for overlap!

As to Trixie, the hyperactive mad scientist routine probably makes him confused and curious in equal measure. So long as she's not in his space all the time or blowing up his camp or anything, though, they could get along decently well. The Parselmouth thing, though, is sort of a tricky topic and even if she has a positive opinion about it, bringing it up too often will make him all kinds of prickly. So! It kind of depends on how she approaches it.

I think I've tried to write something here three times before closing the browser on my phone. Go me! They seem to be, I'm sure Katya doesn't give too much of a care about silly house things but they can start a club over the trauma of their past. She might go into more details about what happened if it came up just because of the fact that he might at least have some understanding of it all. She WAS kind of there when he got killed but again, she does her best to be all :) all the time.

Trixie wouldn't bring it up too often other than sup once or twice and honestly you know how some people realize someone else can speak a different language? And then they try so hard to learn it but end up driving the person that can speak that language crazy? That seems like something she would do. I really hope that sentence made sense because I got lost writing it.

Also I really just wanted to match icons...

Casper considers all of the house stuff pretty unimportant too, so no issue there. Trauma Club! While I doubt Casper would've start the exchange about traumas, he might've reciprocated if Katya ever talked about her past. Might actually do him some good and give him some perspective. He didn't find his mom after the Dark wizard stuff, but he's been living with what's left of her ever since and both of those situations are awful in their own way. I guess the question is whether or not they'd have ever gotten to that point or if it's something we'd like to explore going forward? Either way works for me! Though, obviously that'll have a big impact on their current dynamic.

	Yeah she isn't too keen on just blurting it out but if she eventually opens up about it to anyone outside of Riley I can see her talking to him about it. 	That makes sense. Maybe there's just been enough said and hinted at over the years that they're both aware that the other has Seen Some Shit, even if neither has come clean on the specifics just yet? 	kurt and casper overlap in classes! he may or may not be a little scared of casper. or not scared, so much as treading lightly because he definitely doesn't want to make casper angry—that confrontation is the last thing he basically ever cares for. he may endeavour to cheer him up via journals from time to time, but i'm assuming that he has never succeeded? :P (Reply to this) (Thread)

Probably he has the most overlap with my other character: Tess Noble, Coppertale Sr. She's agressive(ly lawful good) and hates bullies, so she may have punched someone in the face for giving him shit over being a "dark wizard". She's also in the Dueling/Fencing club, and played quidditch until this year (she quit to focus on her career aspirations of becoming an Auror herself)/

Casper likes her already! In all seriousness, though, these two do seem like they could get along because of their similar priorities. If he knows why Tess quit playing Quidditch, he respects the hell out of her, but even if he doesn't he probably likes her just fine. Though, given their mutual tempers, if they ever fight they probably fight hard and they were likely brutal playing Quidditch.

Pippa thinks Casper is v. intimidating and will try to avoid him wherever possible, which shouldn't be difficult as they don't have much overlap.

Henrietta is just like ~lol whatever~ at Casper's moods. Ebonhides, amirite? She'd know him from Quidditch and they're also both in Boating. I'm thinking she might have reacted to the Dark wizard rumours by making jokes about it, with the intention of lightening the mood/showing the rumours are silly and something to be laughed off, but Casper might not have appreciated this??

Haha! Henrietta knows what's up! Casper likely only comes to Boating to swim and doesn't care much about the rest, but yep, he'll be around there and during Quidditch. With regard to the jokes, alas, noooo. He wouldn't appreciate that at all. XD Even though, in reality, that's probably exactly the kind of thing that would've helped.
