ANNOUNCEMENTS: Dec 19
Some quick announcements, since we've had a few people ask:

Yes, journals will work like normally when students are away from school! Because otherwise the next two weeks of this game will be a very boring, lolol. A character's journal will stay connected to the school network until a few months after they graduate or are expelled. Distance doesn't matter.

(Why isn't this awesome magical technology more widespread in the wizarding world? That's a good question which actually has a lore answer I don't feel like explaining right now. Maybe it's a metaplot spoiler? WHO KNOWS. Suffice to say that the charms involved with the character journals are bound up in the school.)

Also, if people want to get rolled for solo runs or repeat runs for the Tree Maze, I will still be doing that! (Until... let's say, Wednesday.) I've also adjusted my algorithm to make it easier to beat the current record, so you might as well try!!! I know, I know, Alex. I'm sorry.

EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!!!! We've changed the activity requirement for scenes in IC/OOCs. It is now a minimum of 3 comments by your character.

Okay but I asked this question on one of the ooc question posts thing, but i'm assuming it got forgotten because this is the busiest month ever

But is Chris's rock's magic limited to Gooseberry, or does that also have no limitation in location and lasts forever or whatever? Since he randomly found the rock at a school where weird shit happens in the woods idk the origins of the magic so i just wanna know if it'll work over break or not

YES OH MY GOD SORRY I totally let that one slip by. I actually wrote a response a long time ago but I lost it...

But you got it right the first time, the magic of Chris' rock is limited to Gooseberry. It won't become totally powerless—something about the rock will continue to feel special to Chris so long as he's a student at Gooseberry—but he'll find that the reassuring effect he got upon squeezing the rock isn't as strong, or doesn't last as long. It grows increasingly weaker the further away he gets from the woods. It's up to you how you want to handle the reassuring effect when Chris is at a home, or at the Youngblood compound. It might be that he's gotten far enough that squeezing it really doesn't help anymore when he's feeling stressed. The magical properties will be fully restored once he returns to school, however!

i think from the stretch of the birthday grotto bash to christmas break, chris hasn't touched his rock. and he's going to robins because he anticipates moping over break now that he's finally away from people, and he doesn't wanna mope.

BUT STEADILY, CHRIS IS MOVING ON, AND WHEN HE MOVES ON, HE SHOULD STOP NEEDING HIS ROCK

IT'S OKAY YOU GUYS, CHRIS CURRENTLY FEELS ALIVE SO EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY

probably not because we play angsty teenagers, but rng was great to him last night, so he can live on finally not sucking for a minute longer

and so far he got to recently cross over two people from his makeout bucketlist, things are really aligning for him

No Levi's mom will insist Levi stay over night because you can't just go wandering around Boston. Come stay, need another pillow, want some pie?

Tho his mom also plans on taking Chris and Ryan to the ER so they can view what happens to idiots who do dumb shit and mangle their bodies and if she finds out Levi took part in the sledding adventure during that day and a half stretch, she'd also insist he come along for that too. I mean it'd be to aggressively show Levi what happens to dumbasses too, but it'll basically just end up giving Levi a front row seat to gore and Chris and Ryan getting chastised by his mom.

It's literally impossible for anybody to outstay their welcome with Chris's mom. Stay long enough and she'll just forget you're not her kid.

Chris will literally try to explain to her that he's broken Levi's face with a ball and a bat before. Clearly they're familiar with blood and broken bones just to talk her out of it.

But Levi literally sucks all the luck away from Chris so if Levi sticks around long enough, he will win that one.

Like his mom is adorable as fuck but she's also brutal and knows what she's doing. She's like the love child of a marshmallow and a drill sergeant.
