Hey people! I'm Lee, 27, working in the glory of quick service (i.e. fast food) in Nebraska until I finish my legal studies degree. Yes, my life is as boring as it sounds. I just have the one ~~so far~~:

XAVIER LEWIS, RIBBONFIN SENIOR

Concept: Easily distracted disaster of a mad scientist lurks in the trees.

Classes: Charms, Hermeticism, Outdoor Education, Potions, Transfiguration, Artificing, Astronomy, Defense, Magical Rudiments

Clubs: Gaming, Outdoor Exploration, LARP, Quidditch Reserve

Xav's parents founded what's usually called "Squib School" and he basically went there from birth through eighth grade, so school's a way of life to him. Don't take him for a serious academic or overachiever, though he is brilliant - he's also a complete mess of a person who has littered half-made treehouses all around Gooseberry, most of them stocked with his abandoned research projects. It's a toss up over what will happen first: him blowing himself up, or creating a sentient blob that tries to take over the world. Either way, people will be entertained. He's also an adrenaline junkie, and tends to fall asleep pretty much anywhere other than his bed.

Lines! Friends, especially one or two who can be his keepers and keep him from wandering into the river or sleeping on the roof. Serious academics who he's pissed off with his scatterbrained ways. Other NYC kiddos he could have met at various middle school competitions/get-togethers. idk, EVERYTHING, I'm brain dead right now.

YAY for more Ribbonfins. Senior Ribbonfins can now FORM VOLTRON!

I have a quick intro to my four characters here!

Ivy's my Ribbonfin senior. She's definitely an academic type, but it doesn't really bother her when other people aren't (low-key she's a little competitive about these things so the fewer people making better grades than her the better). But she might be a little frustrated if he's super smart and squandering his potential because she's feeling that way about herself and projecting your problems on other people is always fun. They're in some classes and gaming club together!

Clementine (

neattrick) is a Quidditch player and that's like her whole identity. She's always kind of up in the other Quidditch players' business because they're her primary social circle and also because IT'S WHERE THE OTHER ADRENALINE JUNKIES LIVE. Whaddup. She's probably into his treehouse thing if he'd show her where they are.

Reece (

thingamabobbs) is a New York kid! He went to a stuffy private high school that's the magic equivalent of an Ivy League feeder school but maybe they do know each other from, idk. After school activities? He's also a gadget inventor and scatterbrained himself so they might get along if they can like focus on each other for 5 seconds. He's also in LARP!

And Ariadne (

deimons) is a Sophomore in a different house and also awful so they probably don't interact too much

Hi JJ! I'm happy to be here! Also, I am reluctantly intrigued by giant Voltron fish and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Xav is definitely not competition for Ivy, he's a pretty solid B student overall because he only cares about grades as long as they're good enough to do what he wants (i.e. in some classes he may have purposefully aimed at the lowest possible grade required to get into the junior/senior classes). He doesn't personally see it as squandering his potential, but I wouldn't be the least surprised if she did!

He's more than happy to point Clementine to the treehouses, at least the ones he actually remembers the locations of. And he's always up for adrenaline junkie hijinks!

Reece and Xav could totally know each other from after school activity type things before Gooseberry. Xav's school had a very low magical student population, so I imagine they did a lot of cross-school projects and events with the other NYC schools. And I'm starting to think there should be a special mad genius laboratory on campus. Xav volunteers to build one in the trees!

Hello! I'm Emma and I have a few here. One of the important ones is this one who is Jeremiah Rasmussen 'Ras' who is a roommate! He's suuuuuuper easy going, way too rich, I'm pretty sure lives in a hammock under his bed loft thing and doesn't really do much outside of slacking. He's just happy to be there, will hand out sunglasses and say just how great his cabin is.

BUT! Even better is

lfmkarapst who is Trixie Armstrong who basically could be just called Dr Trixenstein. She makes things, she's 'evil', she plays an evil half elf warlock in LARP with actual minions. Her goals in life are literally to enslave the world and rule it from a moon base. Trixie always has some sort of weird invention she's working on, just makes crap from a 'secret lab' on campus and really just has plans on being an evil scientist until the end of time. SO BASICALLY, they be 'rival' evil scientists or just go omg science is amazing!

Hi Emma! Xav very much approves of hammocks and sunglasses, so he and Ras should get along fine (also my phone auto corrected Ras to Dad, which made me giggle).

And Trixie is just awesome. Xav would love to be rival scientists with her! Although on his part it's going to be closer to LARP than actual competition, so he'll sometimes forget the "rivalry" part and just be like, "!!! That's so cool!" at her.

Hi Lee! Welcome to the game!!! Ahhh, Xavier is cute. I’m Meggie, one of the mods, and I play 5 characters, which is frankly too many characters.

Rafael Ramirez

firstposition is a senior Coppertale prefect. Rafael is socially poised and gracious, but he’s also an unrepentant authoritarian. He’s a severe prefect and while generally sweet natured, he’s also severe and doesn’t take any shit. He's a major presence in LARP, and his older brother, Ricardo, was infamous in LARP for being a narcissistic but charming jerk who liked to flirt IC with girls and boys while remaining technically loyal to his girlfriend-now-fiance. Rafael mostly does the organizing and planning for LARP at this point because he's frankly a shitty roleplayer. He could potentially be a friend? Rafael feels personally responsible for... like, everyone, but especially close friends.

Diego Morales

morale is a senior Azurcrest. He’s a hipster musician, and although musically gifted, he’s kind of a ditz. Diego is friendly, warm and attentive, but also incredibly impulsive and messy with really bad self-esteem. He’s a staple of the party scene at school. He and Xavier don't have a lot in common, but Diego will talk to anyone. He's got a complex relationship with a lot of the Ribbonfin seniors after he cheated on his ex-girlfriend, Tabitha.

Reid Wainwright

unresponsive is a junior Coppertale. Last year he was their team’s Seeker, but this year he’s been moved to Chaser due to his unreliable focus. Reid seems like an unfriendly ice prince, but the reality is that he’s reaaaaaally awkward. Reid has awful communication skills. They might not interact a lot, but Reid loves climbing things and has definitely made use of those treehouses before.

Calvin Evercreech

evercreep is a sophomore Ribbonfin and a Hogwarts exchange student (former Slytherin). Calvin is a reforming Slytherin bully, who’s still on the abrasive side, but is generally harmless nowadays. Calvin is very bright and a fantastic student, but he’s also whiny and prickly. He shows up sometimes in the senior Ribbonfin boys' cabin due to having a crush on Xavier's roommate, Ravi.

Mackenzie Prince

princeprincess is a junior Azurcrest and the cheer captain. She’s like if you took a mean girl and a class clown and threw them into a blender. She loves to laugh… usually at someone else’s expense. Kenzie’s also an aggressive flirt with a bit of a morbid streak. She'll flirt with Xav if they cross paths, but whether she means it or just wants to get a reaction... who knows.

Hi Meggie! Xav is down for being friends with Rafael, if Rafael can stand him. He plays a pretty chaotic ~~stupid~~ neutral character in LARP, which might bug the guy in charge of organizing things. Either way, Xav thinks he's adorable, and has probably said so.

Xav feels like he should hold a grudge against Diego for Ribbonfin solidarity, buuut he mostly forgets that he's supposed to hold a grudge. (And also, grudges lead to being cold which leads to tension which leads to fights, and he would very much like to avoid that kind of thing.) So he probably winds up chatting to Diego the same amount as he did before the cheating thing.

He and Reid have probably run into each other in the treehouses, trees, or rooftops - Xav's a big fan of heights and climbing too, so there's plenty of random interaction opportunities.

So last year, when Calvin first arrived, Xav was very unimpressed with his behavior. Although in Xav fashion, that means whenever Calvin tried to be mean, I'm thinking Xav patted him on the head and said, "Shhh," like he was a small child or pet. He's all for Calvin's reformation, though, and is rooting for him!

He's mildly terrified of Kenzie, jsyk. And by mildly, I mean he does this if he sees her coming.

I've go Avery here on this journal, a (in the closet) trans female and Ribbonfin JR! She's their Quidditch Captain, in Outdoor Exploration with him, and obviously he's a reserve on her team. She's really friendly and would probably find him really interesting! Of course she'd be super nice to him, too.

Penelope Vargas (

sneakoscoped) is a Coppertale Senior and their share classes and gaming club. She's ALSO a reserve on her Quidditch team, they can lament about that together. She's sort of bristly and really doesn't make friends easily - she kind of makes people work for it in a way, and if you can past that hard crunchy shell she's all sweet and gooey in the middle. I think if he looked past her initial quiet-ness and resting bitch face, they could be friends :)

Hey, together we're Lee Jordan! I don't think I could pull off the dreadlocks, though.

Avery is a total sweetheart, and Xav is going to call her O Captain, My Captain! And I think Penelope and Xav should definitely be friends, because he'll talk at anyone to start with, and if he's so up for trying to combine video games with magic - he's had this idea for magical VR he's been tinkering with every now and then, and she is more than welcome to join him at it.

bodysaysno, not sure if we've played together before, but hello and welcome to our lovely little world :D It's super awesome.

I have three, so let's see:

This journal is Lachlan Galbraith (called Lach, pronounced like Lock), Azurcrest Junior. He's an exchange student from Hogwarts where he was a Hufflepuff. He grew up on the wizarding version of hippie compound campground, and is a perpetually sunny cuddle bug with literally no idea about personal space. He's really earnest, loves camping and the outdoors, and does not understand sarcasm. He marches to his own drummer and likes knitting, hugs and being optimistic. He would know him from clubs (OE, LARP, Gaming), and would find him pretty cool. Definitely they should be friendly!

Next is Anuhea Alapai (An)

alohaha, Ribbonfin Senior. She's a laid back island girl from Hawaii, and while she'd rather be surfing, she's chilling in Gooseberry because her parents paid her way in to sort of get her away from a real bad decision she made when she was a Freshman. She is fun but is prone to just acting without thinking, particularly when drinking. She slept with her friend/roommate's boyfriend Diego last year, and there's still tension about that (they were both drunk but still). She is a horrible flirt but overall very friendly and easy to get along with. I think she would definitely like Xavier, and they would get along pretty dang well! She also loves adrenaline pumping things, and they are in classes and OE together and of course same house/year. Friends for sure? Yes/yes?

Finally I have Victoria Powers (Vic)

vicpower, Sophomore Coppertale. She is an animal lover (wants to be the next Newt Scamander), with a guitar playing iguana for a pet who makes frequest appearances in her posts. Her best friend is her older sister Vee who is a Junior Ebonhide. She's pretty sarcastic and a little closed off at first because she's sorta bad at feelings and relationships. She's also demisexual though she's only just now sorting through that. She likes pranks, sarcasm and her sister. But she's starting to be more friendly, and she's trying to make more friends (she joined hockey this year, for example). I don't know that she'd know him very much, but she would be amused by him from afar at least. She's a bit young and they don't overlap a ton but ya never know!

Hi Sarah! I can't wait to get started (now that finals are done).

Definitely friendly with Lach, who at some point he is going to ask for knitting lessons, because he has a ~~theory~~ about knitting magic together, but he has zero idea how to knit without stabbing himself. An and Xav should def be friends! Xav's just going to straight up ignore her part in the whole cheating fiasco last year because tension leads to fighting and that is no bueno. And yeah, I don't know if he'd know Vic, although the guitar playing iguana is awesome and he probably remembers that.

	Hello! So Bianca is a Ribbonfin Sophomore. They have overlap there and with outdoor exploration. She is pretty chill and she also falls asleep places not her bed because naps and sleeping is amazing. I have four now, apparently.

Most important is

Chris Park: at this journal, because I'm always at this journal. He's really fucking up activity for the rest of my characters. He's a senior coppertale. And in six of Xavier's classes and three of his clubs. He's also a beater of the coppertale quidditch team. So they have obvious crossover. And they're not similar, like at all. Chris is a bit of an asshole, and a bit aggressive. But I actually think it'd be cool if they became weird, unassuming friends early on and that's just who they are now. Chris could wake him up, drag him to classes throughout the day, or whenever he finds Xav sleeping when he should be heading to class. He could find Xav sleeping on roof tops and drag him down and do weird motherly things that Chris doesn't usually do for people, just because they've been at the same school for this long and that's a routine they've got now. And Chris also really secretly cares about academics. While Xav can be that annoying pest that keeps interrupting Chris's fights before they actually turn into fights. If that's something you're interested in.

Olivia Sanchez: Is a junior prefect in Coppertale. She's actually also from the Bronx. So it's also totally possible that her and Xav met in New York and befriended eachother and now chill during the summer vacations. She was raised in a pro-boxing family, so she can be intimidating, but she is literally the sweetest girl. She can just also kick your ass. She has a low key sense of humor, but she also believes in the best in people.

Matteo Diaz: Who I literally just intro'd is a junior ribbonfin. And a hippie. And doesn't have a whole lot of crossover with Xavier, but they're in outdoor exploration and LARP together. Teo is basically a hippie who loves everyone because everyone is beautiful. I don't know if they're friends, but Teo will treat Xavier like a friend anyway.

The fourth one is a sophomore and not really important.

Hi Roz! Chris is awesome, and I would love for them to be confusing friends who are completely different from each other. Xav will definitely try and distract him from fighting, although by this point he's probably accepted it as inevitable. And Olivia and Xav should be NYC summer buddies for sure. Also, he probably tried to get boxing lessons from her at some point, because he heard it called "the sweet science" and was intrigued. And then realized he didn't like hitting people, but oh well. And aw, Teo sounds sweet.

Ravinder Dhaliwal (

paladins), Ribbonfin senior prefect and Xav's roommate. Ravi tries to be very Nice and Well-Behaved and Responsible and fusses over all the Ribbonfins like he's their fish dad. He's also secretly goofy and very intensely into LARP and fantasy novels. If you need a "keeper" then LOOK TO RAVI because he gets overinvolved in the lives of all his roommates. Ravi will sometimes be the guy who scolds you for endangering yourself but sometimes he'll just want to relax and tease you. Also, he has to love Xav because Xav is the only senior Ribbonfin who's in LARP (why do the rest of you not love Ravi's nerdy club, I ask you???). And Ravi lives a stone's throw away in New Jersey, he won't have known Xav before starting at Gooseberry but they are close!

ALL THIS TO SAY, they should be good friends??? I think Xavier will be an interesting addition because so far their cabin is four fairly low-key guys, so it's GREAT to have a haphazard mad scientist running around.

Wilhelmina Tran (

resentfully), Ebonhide senior. Mina is an abrasive drama queen who rules Event Committee with an iron fist; she's more sensitive than she lets on but most people won't ever realize that because Mina doesn't believe in showing weakness. They're classmates but I imagine she and Xav wouldn't get along? She's very much a serious academic who wouldn't be charmed by how scatterbrained he is.

Sylvester Stoker (

stokers), Coppertale junior, Quidditch captain and Chaser. Sy is a hyper-competitive alpha male douchebag who swears and fights a lot and hits on girls obnoxiously, but he can be kind of fun if you're a really tolerant person. We might have to see how it goes in-game, but Sy's already not a fan of the Ribbonfin Quidditch team, and Sy might seem like just a dumb bully to Xavier?

Micah St. Clair (

auteur), Azurcrest sophomore, Quidditch reserve. Micah is an aspiring film director with abysmal taste in movies; he's excitable, talkative, never seems to take anything seriously, and sometimes has a poor sense of boundaries. Micah and Xavier might not cross paths a whole lot, but Micah admires the older Quidditch players and is all about MAD SCIENTIST STUFF, so at least Micah thinks Xav is a ~cool senior~.

Hi Lee! I'm Callie. Can I just say how much I LOVE DYLAN? Because I do. And I will try not to let that bias result in "All my chars love him" ;) I have 4 here:

Vee here is a Junior Ebonhide. She is "Perky overachiever with an inability to say no or comprehend failure." Vee joins every club, takes every class (or she did before she realized that wasn't realistic, and it still makes her sad she can't tbh), and is generally someone who likes to keep busy and do well and be perfect because that's important. She's friendly with everyone, which can be annoying or overwhelming. Despite him being a complete mess, she's nice to all different types and will likely find him endearing. She may even try to help him organize a little bit, or give him her Cheer Captain pep talks for his inventions. (Or overwhelm him, because who knows how he'll feel)

Susana Velasquez is next (

gottaplay). She's a Coppertale Sophomore. Quidditch obsessed, grew up in a wealthy family but was always ignored/overlooked. She can be a bit guarded and have attitude, but really she's a sweet girl who just likes being noticed. Quidditch makes her feel special and important so she is super into it. She can be a bit guarded and wary, somewhat prickly at times, but is a good girl underneath. Very recently learning she kinda wants to try and like boys but it's hard and she's a tough cookie so. We'll see. Since he's a reserve player, she'd know him and respect that. The rest we can figure out as we go?

Marilyn Fairchild (

notmonroe) Junior Ribbonfin. She plays Quidditch, but grew up in a literal zoo (parents are a magizoologist and a dragon tamer so they lived outdoors on reserves and moved around a lot) Think Mean Girls, because she's super sweet and naive with social things, but got taken advantage of by a mean clique who told her she was pretty and could use it. However, she's not that anymore, but she still likes girly things now and tries not to be too high maintenance. Super sweet and innocent to everyone, so she'll be that way to him. And he's in L.A.R.P. with her and OE. So I think we can have a pair of friends???? Seriously she needs more of them.

Ryan Hertz (

glasshalfdoomed) Senior Azurcrest. He had a rough childhood (dad abused him when he found out he had magic because he thought he was "evil", mom never in the picture) So he basically now doesn't think he deserves to be happy or have good things. But since finding out his mom is in Azkaban, he decided he didn't want to be like either parent so pretends to be an aloof yet charismatic enigmatic bad boy, when really he wishes he could be his doom cookie reclusive self. He is naturally charming in his act, if not a little reluctant at times, but I doubt he'll cross paths with Xavier much other than in Gaming. But I'm open to randomness!!

Gavin Ogletree (

windless), Ebonhide Sophomore. "Serial monogamist with a specialty in dramatics, scowling and magical theory." Gavin is a teen boy with quite a few faces up his sleeve; he can be seen as the charming chameleon when it comes to figures of authority, the intensely sullen academic holed up in the library or as the pathetic loverboy that many of his friends know him as. He can be snobbish, charming, though would rather have nothing to do with people outside his friend group.

Martina Fanning (

smudging), Ribbonfin Sohopmore. "Bitchy farm girl with a side of granola." Martina grew up living on a self-sustaining farm with her family. When it was time for school, she became known as an aggressive biter. She's independent to the point of stubbornes, productive and keen on asking people intrusive questions. Despite her judgmental bitch face and her probing question, she's got an open mind and friends from all over the social spectrum. Values honesty and hard work about anything else. A great lover of the outdoors.

Gavin probably won't know him much!
Martina thinks he's a fucking delight? Asks him what he's up to all the time, even though she probably can't understand wtf he's going on about

Hi Lee! I'm also new and here are the two characters I came in with this week:

Garrett "Sly" Ogletree (

isolate), Coppertale Sophomore, Prefect, Dueling & Fencing, Outdoor Exploration, Quidditch Reserve Beater/Chaser. His concept is "Near-silent reformed rebel in the streets, mischievous consulting troublemaker in the sheets." Despite being the only prefect and the only dark-haired one, Garrett is the Ogletree you might not have heard of because he doesn't talk much. A lot of people think he's an arrogant snob because of this, but he's actually just shy. He won't initiate conversations, but if you start it you'll actually find he's got a mischievous and sly sense of humor to go with his studious athleticism, and he loves danger and trouble as much as the next guy. (He's a "consulting troublemaker", you see, which is exactly what it sounds like.) Gavin proooobs won't know him beyond general bench-warming and also OE? But will be polite.

Bailey "Bae" Hartman (

cyrano), Ebonhide Junior, Cheer Squad, Event Committee. Her concept is "A busybody matchmaker who purposefully confuses "good match" with "good drama." Bailey is a meddlesome matchmaker who will set you up whether you ask her to or no. Really she just loves drama, so sometimes it's less about perfect match and more about how entertaining the couple will be. Shockingly, when not matchmaking, Bailey is actually pretty quiet and normal and understated. Her own business is kept on a bit of a lockdown, and she's not really prone to drama in her own life because it's only fun when it happens to other people. She loves event planning, cheerleading, and basically anything to do with the social side of school. Bae thinks he's hilarious and they could be friendly? She likes to be where the action is and he certainly counts.

Zeke is also an easily distracted human puppy. He slides by in life because he's a natural at pretty much everything he does. So studying isn't really a thing nor is putting a lot of time into homework. Zeke would likely be a bad influence in Xavier's life. His brother is in Xavier's house and year, so they have likely interacted, if not became friends.

Kele is relatively new to the school. He's quiet, though loves to be around people. He is Hawaiian and misses the island (his father sent him to Gooseberry without his consent.) Their only crossover is OE and An is his "cousin", she's in Xaviers house and year.

Hi Lee! I'm Heather, I'm a 30 year old Brit and professional cat herder and hostage negotiator (I teach equivalent of third grade), and having come from a law undergrad programme before teaching, you have my sympathies <3

I have four kiddos here. This gal, Joanna May, is a 16 y/o sophomore from NYC! She's Italian American (her parents own a deli/restaurant in Little Italy) and is both feisty and badass with big career ambitions. She's in Ebonhide. Thinks he's cute despite the scatterbrained ways.

I also have another sophomore, Will Chase, who is in LARP and OE with Xav. He's a bouncy puppy Azurcrest who is way into muggle sports like soccer.

The most relevant is Tabitha Ogletree, Ribbonfin senior and Cheer Captain! She's a gentle soul who is into the arts and comes from an old money, pureblood family from Philly. Her dad is a MACUSA rep for the state.

reehobbs is a sophomore Azurcrest crazy person artist. She's unflaggingly honest, flirts with literally everyone all the time, and probably thinks Xavier is totally delightful.

gabiflor is a Ribbonfin baby sophmore made of sweetness and light and innocence. She loves you. She loves everyone. Hug her.

And most relevantly, Isaiah Covington

icovington is one of Xavier's roommates! He's a serious introvert who spends most of his time in the music room, but he's more or less comfortable with all of his dormmates by now, hopefully. He doesn't get the adrenaline junkie thing at ALL and he really hopes you don't blow up their cabin as all of his stuff is in there, but I can see him being pretty fond of Xavier and like...covering him when he falls asleep on the floor and such. He'd be a good keeper if you still need one?

guthriegazette who will dad him like Ravi but not as much because Asher is not a prefect which means he can not give a shit when he wants to! He's also from NYC! He's also a good student! Sooo yeah.

Hi I'm Lyss! I have three!

challenge is Leonardo Fiori, Ebonhide Senior and Quidditch captain/ Beater. He also has ambitions of being an Auror and very soon will turn successfully into a snapping turtle in Animagus Studies. He's very much the picture of having it all and doing it all, and most importantly WINNING it all. He has a sense of humor that means he comes off as a cocky shit as opposed to Very Serious most of the time. He's ALSO from Jersey City and just across the river from Xavier! If he played Quidditch in middle school in that area I IMAGINE they'd have met? Leo went to the Queens School of Magic in the city! He would think Xavier is way too smart to not buckle down, but he will take him seriously anyway, so that could be weird maybe.

And then I have Addy Foster-Hayes here! Addy's an Azurcrest Junior, former Ilvermorny Thunderbird. She comes from a well respected Virginia wizard halfblood family and a similar Muggle family and promptly decided she liked neither. Now she flits around and used to sleep around, and is just in general kind of not tame. She is incredibly warm towards everyone, but prone to poor decisions. Thank God she's also kind of awesome at Potioneering. Shes in OE with Xavier, though her attendance is like spotty at best. She would like him though, as a fellow adrenaline junkie with much worse ways of showing that...? She talks at everything that moves and will inevitably be friendly

here! Because I just did that yesterday and don't want to type another blurb. That is Ferdinand Ayers, and he's the junior Ribbonfin prefect. He'd definitely know Xavier and think he's very interesting? Ferdinand will probably not be able to turn Dad Prefect Mode off around Xavier tbh so sorry in advance...

Hello! Welcome to the game! I'm Jackie and I've got two brats at the current moment:

Frankie Noble (

anadem) is a Sophomore over in Azurcrest. She's an enthusiastic little nerd who enjoys doodling on walls.

And Roxanne Barringer is a Junior from Coppertale. She was raised in what pretty much equates to Magic Traveling Circus and walks tightrope when she's not at school violently beating on things during Quidditch games. She definitely spends a lot of time climbing trees
- though she's usually doing it so she can string up a rope between them and get in some practice - but they might've run into each other above the ground on occasion.

Also, this school is fantastic and I'd love to use it in my character-in-process' app. Because he was already from Canarsie and his sister's a Squib. So. omg, yes.
