CHOOCHOO, HERE'S ALI RIDING ALONG ON THE GIANT NEW CHARACTER TRAIN. His bio is massive so I don't expect anyone to sit there and actually read through it. If anything, please just read the personality section.

Ennis Harper, Ribbonfin Junior. Known for Divination, potion-making, ball jointed dolls, and talking to both spirits and rats. (It's debatable if they're actually talking back to him.)
TL;DR Bio Facts Edition:

Originally from New Zealand! His dad was a weird Shepherd-Seer who got unhealthily invested in prophecies, divination, and trying to communicate with the dead to unravel the mysteries of life. He died when Ennis was 10 and he and his mother moved to her family's farm in southern Ontario. Ennis and his father were super close before he died and he sort of idealizes him and sees him as passionate rather than ~problematic~. This worries the hell out of his maternal grandparents who watched how easily his "pragmatic" mother got swept up in it.

His family raises magical sheep and sells magically imbued yarn to Quinn's dad's shop, HEYYYY!!

Prior to Gooseberry, he attended Ilvermorny as a Pukwudgie. He was definitely weirder back then because children are imaginative and odd and he had his ball jointed doll with him during the sorting process. When he was twelve, he had a phase where he believed his dolls had souls but that only lasted for maybe a semester before he grew out of it. He's always been super sweet and soft-spoken, he just had weird-ass hobbies. ALSO!! People in his year at Ilvermorny would know that he had precocious knowledge of Divination, theology, and potions when he first arrived but struggled with reading, writing, harder maths (ok, not actually hard, but things like algebra), and history when he first came to the school and had to get extra one-on-one tutoring sessions for years in order to catch up with his peers. Anyone who wants to know can know that he didn't have any proper education prior to Ilvermorny and was """"homeschooled"""" in the loosest meaning of the word.

His grandparents encouraged him to apply to Gooseberry and he has a hard time saying no, so he did. They really just wanted him to get away from Divination since, at the time, Gooseberry had no Divination professor. He got into Gooseberry on an artistic scholarship after submitting a portfolio of his BJD photography.

Last year, he was an exchange student at Hogwarts. He was sorted into Hufflepuff and he was attending with the intention of taking Divination with Trelawney (the rumors he heard were overhyped) since Gooseberry didn't have Divination-- when he enrolled, he wasn't aware that Chettri was coming to Gooseberry that same year. He fit in with the Hufflepuffs well and the clean slate for his reputation allowed him to make friends easily. He was deeply invested in Divination, fascinated by the ghosts, and did doll photography and faceups, but dolling was just a hobby and not an obsession like it had been when he was younger. SO THERE WERE DEFINITELY WEIRDER KIDS AROUND, AS FAR AS WIZARD SCHOOLS GO. But~~~ He heard crying in Myrtle's bathroom and realized that Riley Stamper was being bullied, which eventually lead to him trying to stand up to her and gaining negative attention from it. Toward the very end of the fall semester, he ended up panic-punching a bully that nobody liked and over Christmas break, rumors started to swirl and the story got retold and twisted to make him appear more badass than he actually was. So he gained a (mostly) positive reputation as a guy who isn't afraid to use his strength for good and stand up to bullies (IT'S NOT TRUE, HE WAS TERRIFIED, HE CRIED), but he also felt incredibly uncomfortable with the attention he was receiving and just wanted to go home. ... Also, unrelated, but he had a big fat crush on Moaning Myrtle and everyone probably knew that.

HE'S BACK AT GOOSEBERRY!!! And super into Divination and likes Chettri a lot because he's a socially awkward adult and he can relate to him. He spends a lot of time in the Rudiments classroom and he adores Prospero because HE'S SO CALMING AND POSSIBLY ABLE TO READ MINDS AND THAT TAKES THE STRESS OUT OF ASKING FOR HELP. He goes there to sew tiny doll clothes, bake, cook, and eat snacks. He also hangs out in the lodge near the outlets because he plays the Sims 3 on his laptop, but also has his drawing tablet and Photoshop open because he makes texture mods for his game. WHY AREN'T THERE MORE OUTLETS, GOOSEBERRY?

CLUBS: Equestrian, Gaming, & Event Committee

Any Hogwarts students who were there last year? hmu, let's work out how they feel about him and if they were friends or not.

Event committee! He's super loyal to the event committee even though he didn't mean to join it his Freshman year. He's spineless and super easy to boss around. While he was at Hogwarts, he tried to contribute by owling over design sketches of the lodge for events.

He (at least from his perspective) considers Riley a close friend so I'd love if he was unlikely friends with a few other Mean Girls because of his connection to her? She's responsible for his new makeover since most of Gooseberry last saw him his Freshman year and she's been dragging him to parties and he says yes because he caves so easily to peer pressure.

SPEAKING OF PEER PRESSURE, he's super spineless and easily manipulated. (Even if he knows he's being manipulated, he's usually willing to go along with it because he struggles to say no.)

I'd love him to have a variety of friends. Extroverted kids are super helpful to get him involved in things. Also weird and/or quiet kids for him to relate to?

KIDS WITH PET MICE OR RATS!!!! He practices a form of divination called myomancy where he studies their behavior to sense omens. ... But mostly, he just wants all their little rodent babies to hang out because he thinks they're super cute. If they own a rodent pet, he probably wants to be their friend.
