GOT DISTRACTED BY VIDEO GAMES BUT NOW I'M BACK ON TRACK. It's time for even more intros

This is Reece! He's a junior Azurcrest. He's from New York. His mother is the chief of staff for the MACUSA rep from NY and his father is a nomaj journalist. Everyone in his family YELLS A LOT but that's how they show they care. The whole environment growing up was a little chaotic, esp because he was a shy child, but it did prepare him for being surrounded by Azurcrests. He's a little more introverted than some of his housemates but he's more sociable than he used to be.

His primary hobby is ~inventing~ which is fun when it's successful. Which is a solid 50% of the time. He promises not to blow anything up (while he's at school). He also enjoys MUGGLE ASTROLOGY, an obsession he picked up from his older sister (who recently graduated from Azurcrest as well). She owls him Teen Cosmo just for the horoscopes. He's a Capricorn.

He's also the other junior prefect for Azurcrest! He's pretty lenient on minor infractions. His main mantra as a prefect is "let's all have fun, be safe, and be nice to each other". JUST FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE, GUYS.

I'm open to any and all kinds of plots

Frankie's in Azurcrest. But he shouldn't have to lecture her too much. She's generally pretty well-behaved. Cheerful little shit, but well-behaved!

Nia's another Junior prefect, so they'd know each other from that. And she's also from Manhattan. So they might even know each other from there. Her grandparents are pretty notorious.

Also I would like to take a minute to highlight the fact that his owl is named after Grace O'Malley. Because Grace O'Malley! Pirate Queen.

And I can definitely see them knowing each other from like, polite wizard society. His family aren't like proper purebloods by any stretch of the imagination but his mom is pretty important and well-connected so I can see them being in w that crowd at least peripherally.

he named her before he knew how bad she is at navigating long distances. every time she's late coming back from mailing a letter he's like "welp, she's lost at sea, my poor stupid bird child"

Frank is relieved. Being in trouble is not her fave.

Honestly, her grandfather could have just provided formal attire for events or something. They're way better at robes than they are at polite society. But Nia would 100% be one sitting quietly and looking vaguely bemused as her family ruffled feathers. So she gets him on being the relatively quiet/shy one in a less than quiet or shy family.

Ah, but she is still named for greatness. She tries. The world is vast and she is but one tiny, awesomely-named feather duster.

RILEY - HI JUNIOR BOY. she will flirt with him and act like she doesn't realize she's doing it, she will be a pain in the ass, she'll give him an inappropriate(ly cutesy) nickname, she'll yell at him and make him feel right at home, SHE'LL ASK FOR HIM TO READ HER HER HOROSCOPE.

ROSY - ANOTHER JUNIOR PREFECT. HELLO HI.

NATE - senior ebonhide prefect? IDK MAN.

ROBIN - LARP? IDK.

HE AND RILEY ARE GONNA GET ALONG. He likes anyone that will listen to his astrology bs for sure and being flirted w probably flusters him but i imagine that is not terrible difficult to do. BUT SHE'S FUN

HI ROSY. Rosy's probably a closer match to him energy-wise than most of his azurcrest housemates tbh. he likes the ribbonfins. it sounds like he might not get along too well w her brother tho so there is that

If Rosy had to cut out all the people her brother didn't get along with...she'd have a really weird assortment of friends. As long as he doesn't expect her to go save the day when Sy acts like a dick or have any trouble disassociating his actions from her, they'll proooobably be fine?

DARN THOSE (awesome) VIDEO GAMES. But yay for Reece!

Cecil sees a lot of Reece, given the House and prefect connections, and probably likes him quite a bit given that he's friendly and bright and hard-working and RESPONSIBLE (stop the presses). So yeah, all the encouragement and big brotherly affection in the world, likely. Aaaand he'll try to keep him from blowing himself up too. Also, he hopes that Reece's picky eating habits don't exclude all the sweets? He can try to make something else?

Casper is a fellow junior and knows Reece from Dueling too, where he is crazy aggressive (sorry!). Otherwise, he just treats Reece with the same surly negativity that everyone else gets, probably (again, sorry). Cole doesn't really have any connections with Reece, but he'd think his inventions are super neato?

Yes he looks up to Cecil and likes him a lot. I'm writing off his absence from the rules discussion as him being like "idk? whatever cecil says i guess?" He's a TEAM PLAYER.

AND HE WILL EAT SOME SWEETS But he does not like nuts. or peanuts even though he is cool w legumes in general

so zoey!! zoey's mother and reece's mother DEFINITELY WORK TOGETHER so maybe like ... they kinda know eachother from outside of school/being kids? might be interested. z is also into astrology so they've got that going too c:

laurel is in azurcrest & so far seems like she keeps her head kinda down/isn't super obvious about breaking rules SO v golden rule up in here -- they probably get along.

OOO yes I'm for sure up for that! I feel like their moms might actually get along really well despite being different personality types. and then their dads are both muggles also? so i can see their families clicking.

YEAH I gotta figure out what his deal in LARP is going to be. But he joined up bc of his older sister, who just graduated and was also and Azurcrest who did LARP and drama, so Laurel probably would have known his sister and they might've been friends too?

Trixie is so overly excited about this idea and claims she hasn't blown anything up yet but inventing is the greatest thing ever. Her older sister and brother graduated from Azurcrest a few years ago as well!

Katya is also super pumped that she won't be alone in Azur junior Prefecting stuff. She lives by the same rule basically just don't be stupid and she's fine with it. So hopefully those two will be awesome together.

Ferris just says meh. Sorry.

Yay Reece! He's so cute. :)

So, Reid will know him from being in the same year. He's icy and awkward, but may have expressed some curiosity over Reece's inventions in the past. If Reece needs a friend, Reid will listen to him talk about all his invention and astrology stuff. However, he does need to be reprimanded periodically for climbing things he really shouldn't.

Calvin probably won't talk to Reece much. :c Although all prefects probably are kind of aware he was a jerk last year, and is... significantly less of one now. He gets bullied by Sy Stoker, which prefects sometimes help him with.

Diego is a year above him in Azurcrest, and he breaks rules, and then apologizes. And then does it again, and apologizes. He'll be really friendly and big brotherly at Reece, though. He'll try to play it cool but he's totally fascinated by the horoscopes thing REECE TELL HIM WHAT THE STARS SAY.

And Rafael! Before I begin, do you still want to have their older siblings engaged? :D

Cristiane was also in LARP, and I imagine her as being equal measures genuine sweetheart and TOTAL DRAMA QUEEN. Growing up she was used to being the ABSOLUTE CENTER OF ATTENTION 100% OF THE TIME, so I can definitely imagine she + Ricardo being. a very dramatic high school couple lmao.

THAT SOUNDS GREAT. Ricardo is half SELFISH MANIPULATIVE ASSHOLE and half genuinely fun and good hearted guy. So I'm sure when he and Christiane not playing out some ridiculous melodrama, they're very close. Their wedding is probably going to be as much groomzilla as bridezilla.

So! Rafael. As everyone knows, he's got A Reputation as a prefect, can be incredibly abrasive, and in LARP he's kind of a terror. But on a day-to-day basis, he's very affectionate, poised and playful, and so that's probably mostly what Reece gets. As long as Reece tries and shows he takes being a prefect seriously, Rafael will only get on his case periodically for being lax. He knows Azurcrest is a special case, and Reece is family in a roundabout way.

But the Ricardo thing made a lot of Rafael's interpersonal relationships... hard. Ricardo flirted with all of his friends and led them on, nitpicked Rafael's girlfriends until they broke up with him, and was generally nonstop ~lovingly~ critical. And in return, Rafael was always trying to pettily outsmart him and killing his characters in LARP. If Ric was also involved in Reece and Rafael's relationship, he probably found a way to undermine that too, so if you want to go with Reece and Raf not getting along that definitely works. BUT NOW RIC IS GONE, and Rafael is free, and I don't know what he's going to do with that. He's retreated from a lot of the actual RP parts of LARP and mostly does organizational stuff now, I guess, so... that's a relief.

Reid: Reece isn't socially inept EXACTLY but he is probably space cadet-y enough that he doesn't realize it when people are ignoring him/being icy towards him, and he's always happy to talk about his gadgets and knick knacks if people ask, so i can see them getting along sporadically. PLUS he's definitely the person to be like "OH MY GOD YOU ARE GOING TO BREAK YOUR NECK" momfriend style when ppl are doing reckless things so that checks out

Calvin: he can totally help him out w bullying stuff. STOP BEING SUCH A TOOL, SY. also I think Reece is probably pretty interested in what hogwarts is like so he may have bugged him about that. possibly last year though which maybe didn't work out for him so hot

Diego: REECE FORGIVES YOU FOR YOUR RULE BREAKING. even if it is a charlie brown and the football situation. he believes in u, diego. (sidebar: when i was looking for icons for reece one of the sets i was looking at was robert as simon lewis in the movie version of shadowhunters but he just looks TOO MUCH like diego. maybe he'll go as him for halloween)

Reid: Reid will sullenly listen to Reece when he tells him to get down. 8( Reid's icyness is all just being stilted, so IT WORKS OUT. I imagine that under all those awkward layers he likes Reece a lot.

Calvin: Yeah, last year Calvin was probably very defensive and mocking, but this year he's not putting on those airs. If Reece tried again this year and wanted to seriously know what Hogwarts was like... well, Calvin didn't have a great time at Hogwarts so it might be riddled with complaints, but he'd also tell him about the history and all the weird stuff that happens. And if Reece is someone who stands up for him, Calvin will warm up to him sooooo fast.

Diego: Diego thinks Reece is lovely, such a smart kid, going to hold him close and protect him. Diego will try SO HARD to be good for all the Azurcrest prefects who believe in him. And OH MY GOD haha that's right, they both played Simon. Ugh, Robert Sheehan is so cute, with or without glasses.

MICAH: Azurcrest sophomore, v. v. extroverted, poor boundaries so Reece might have to scold him sometimes when he forgets to be nice, sorry. But Micah would think the whole chaotic inventing thing is AWESOME and Reece is VERY AWESOME and Micah does basically idolize all the older Azurcrests, so he'll be easy to handle if Reece ever has to handle him.

SY: Fellow junior, total dick, needs to be told off a lot. lmao. Sy gets all hyper-aggressive asshole but he actually doesn't take it too personally when prefects tell him to cut it out. Iiii'm not sure how they'd get along. MAYBE THEY DON'T because hey Sy is improbably fond of your other two characters already lol.

RAVI: Senior prefect! Also LOVES EVERYONE IN LARP and was one of the founding members of the club, and I'd always imagined that Ravi was very good friends with Ricardo Ramirez and his girlfriend/fiancée? So if it's cool with you, I think Ravi has always seen Reece as ~Cristiane's little brother~ and acts kind of big brothery at him as well. But maybe now that THE GREAT SHADOW OF CRISTIANE is gone, Ravi can start seeing Reece as a person in his own right. :|a

MINA: OK, they're in Duelling together and Mina doesn't care for Azurcrests as a rule. Reece is... less awful than most Azurcrests, so at best Mina will be apathetic to him. :|

YEAAAAH also i didn't hit ivy's intro bc i'm terrible, but basically like:

- ravi loves senior ribbonfins, they are HIS FISH FAMILY and he wants to be their big bro and shoulder to cry on. he will worry over ivy when she's having a hard time, he will talk books with her, he is GENUINELY INTERESTED in every page of her doorstop dissertation, he will catch the spiders in her dorm. he loves ivy especially because they have similar senses of humour; not enough people in ribbonfin will tease ravi back :(
- sy actually likes laurel a lot, she's chill and he tries to make her laugh. he's terrible at telling the difference between ivy and laurel (YES SORRY HE'S A TWIN TOO BUT HIS TWIN IS A GIRL OK) so sometimes he's gonna try the same Obnoxious Flirting routine on ivy too. it's all for comedy. he can be a dick but the templetons are low on the "ppl i like being a dick to" list.
- mina is... SO UNPOPULAR UGHHHH but ok she's not getting along with ivy either because she often gets into petty fights with laurel, so. :( i think she'd actually like ivy ok on her own merits, but obv ivy has to back up her sister!!!!

REECE & MICAH: Of my ppl I think Reece would probably get along w Micah best just because he isn't easily offended himself and is always happy to talk about his hobbies. But he would definitely be a lil strict with him when he's mean to people. Come on, Micah, you're better than this!!

REECE & SY: SY IS A PROBLEM CHILD. He gets the scathing Reece denunciation of "not cool, man" on the regular. Which probably doesn't land as hard as Reece thinks it does, lmao

REECE & RAVI: YES that definitely fits in with how I imagine things. Reece was mostly doing LARP to hang out w his sister in the first place so he's feeling a little awkward in the group now, cause he does think of them primarily as Cris's friends and not his own friends. But he'll stick it out for at least a little while, so they can get to know each other better!

REECE & MINA: A GLOWING COMMENDATION FROM MINA. He's used to strong personalities so he's probably not as fazed by her bossiness as other people are, as long as she's not hurting anyone's feelings. and he appreciates her for organizing school events. he couldn't organize a dance for a million dollars

RAVI + IVY: IVY LOVES RAVI. I HAD MUCH MORE TO SAY WHEN I STARTED WRITING THIS YESTERDAY but my brain is FRIED. But yeah she really appreciates him both as a prefect and a friend. he is a good, calming, grounding presence. And she probably talks his ear off about her senior project because she can't get anyone else to really listen SORRY RAVI. she'd be a sounding board for his project too even if potions isn't her strongest subject.

SY + IVY: lmao I bet Laurel and Ivy think they're super easy to tell apart and then Ivy like, wears Laurel's clothes and is offended when people don't recognize her. She's like come ON it's so OBVIOUS we're so DIFFERENT (they are not). She'll put up w Sy but she wishes he were nicer :(

MINA + IVY: yeah while Ivy doesn't like conflict and probably appreciates Mina's tenacity she's not gonna super impressed by anyone that's mean to Laurel. IT'S HER ONE THING. it might be fun tho because she's usually so soft spoken but when Mina snaps at Laurel that is her berserk button. beware the nice ones

Ree is a baby Crest, prefect, and has a nickname similar to his real name, so I vote she just...well, frankly, Rees all over him all the time. Aka LOVE.

Saira is a fellow junior and will basically make this face at him if he blows things up. Actually I feel like that gif is a good representation of Saira's soul, esp. around Azurcrests.

Gabi is a prefect and is sweet to all.

And Isaiah gets the introvert thing, though he would die if he had been put into Azurcrest.

quinn's in azu with him and is a prefect a year above. she probably likes him a lot and thinks he's "a darling."

kurt's in his year & ribbonfin. his dad's a MACUSA muggle relations spin-doctor and as a result, kurt spends about half of his breaks kicking around in manhattan. i want to vote that they know each other pretty well bc of that as well! and they have classes together. and, okay, i just think reece is adorable and i'm having a hard time figuring out how anybody could dislike him so that's prob at least 50% of the reason.

Um, I love him! Dom in particular is demanding to be friends. Both prefects in the same year, bith pretty friendly and relaxed, Dom is especially a proponent of the 'don't be a dick' rule, as he calls it!

I sometimes have had Tabs refer to her dad's office next door to the office of one of the NY MACUSA reps. Want to manufacture a link there, maybe?

Definitely! Reece got dragged to a lot of MACUSA parties and dinners and stuff as a kid so I imagine he knows most of the MACUSA reps' kids at least in passing.

YAY NEW YORKERS even if she's in ebonhide. they gotta stick together. there's too many southerners and country kids out here

Pippa doesn't have much overlap with Reece, so we'll have to see how these two interact in game!

Coralee is in Reece's year. She... is not nice, so Reece probably won't like her.

Henrietta is a housemate! She triiiies not to break rules in front of prefects, but eh, if it happens it happens. Although since Reece is more of a lenient prefect I guess he'd be more likely to let her off for minor things?
