Penelope had been watching the strange newcomer, whom she did not recognize, as he mingled among the crowd. She had been out of hearing range as he spoke to the blonde woman with the French accent (she had overheard the girl speaking earlier and had made note), yet now that he was alone, she made her approach.
"Pardon me," she began in her Aberdeen brogue as she walked toward him, looking up at him through her eyelashes and trying to maintain a balance between flirty and dignified - this was an after-funeral event, after all. "But you have such an unusual accent. I don't think I've ever heard it before."
She held her hand out, palm down. "I'm Dame Sidheag MacKinnon. And you would be?"
