In preparation of GPWriMo, let's do a nice little character building exercise, shall we?

1. What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? On his/her bedroom floor? On his/her nightstand? In his/her garbage can?

2. It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Give details. If he/she’s eating breakfast, what exactly does he/she eat? If he/she’s stretching out in his/her backyard to sun, what kind of blanket or towel does he/she lie on?

3. What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting?

4. What are the limitations of your character's power? What are the drawbacks (if any) of your character's power? How does your character feel about their power (do they like it? does it come in handy? are they opposed?)

5. Who is your character's best friend? Who is your character's enemy? If your character had their pick of anyone in town, who would they marry?

Sorry I've been so fail at keeping this up, but I do have a character development exercise that I've been working on!



Answer each of the following questions as your character:

1. Post a song or song lyric reflective of your mood right now.

2. If you could hang out with someone right now, who would it be and why?

3. Is there someone you miss? If so, who and why?

4. Where do you see yourself in ten years?

5. What are you going to do for Father's Day, if anything?

Hello, I'm Kat and I come with Regina Chambers; 44 year old wife of ty chambers. She's a psychoanalyst, or a therapist for shorter words. She's a family woman first, busy worker second. I figured she would be placed into the school as the counselor to keep a mental record on how the children of the project are coming along. She's having regrets about subjecting her children to the project, but she knows that this is what their normalcy is now so she often pings back and forth on whether she truly likes what the Genome Project stands for. A soccer mom club would be more than great. She's an introvert more so than a social butterfly, so while she's all for making friendly conversation when needed, Regina prefers to keep a small social circle of those she considers her true friends. Hope to write with some of you soon. Her bio is here. And P.S. I was thinking that she did private sessions when she received calls from her patients.

Hello everyone! Here are a couple quick reminders and this week's character building exercises:

1. We have some new characters, so don't forget to run the friend button!

2. Keep tagging those posts! Remember to include the month and both character names in the thread.

3. It is strongly recommended that everyone reads the thread for Jacquelyn's arrival, since she's going to be such a major catalyst in the future. She's been on the island since early Tuesday morning, and she'll probably be out and about, although she's not terribly social (yet) so feel free to have characters spot her. If anyone's feeling brave enough to approach her, she's open for threading, so email Michael (michael.eric.sloan@gmail.com) to plot and such.

4. And here are some character building exercises!

a. What was their favorite class in school and why? Did they have a favorite teacher or mentor? What was it about them that drew that mentor to them? What's their learning style like, slow and steady or quick leaps of intuition?

b. What's your character's favorite book(s) or author(s)?

c. Since Mao brought it up to James this week... what is your character's spirit animal? Take the quiz!

3. Please remember to tag your posts, including solos, AIM converstions and texts!

4. Character building exercise:

a. Because we really like this one, time to consult your playlists for lyrics to describe your chars' current mental state!

b. Answer these questions: What games do they like to play? Are they a sore loser or one of those winners who rub it in? Do they like to bet money on a game? Do they prefer cards or dice? What board games are in their hallway closet?

c. ...Plus this one: Describe a recurring dream your character has had at some point in his/her life and explain its significance.
