Today had been a good day. Josie had gotten to spend time with Adrian who seemed to still be in good spirits and the doctors said they didn't see any signs of option three or even option two happening. So that made her happy. Even though Adrian had assured her that if he became a mutant he would be fine with it she knew deep down it wouldn't be okay. She grew up with her power it grew with her. Getting a power now after you are set in your ways would be really hard, much harder than she thinks he realizes. But no matter if things continued the way they seemed he wouldn't have to worry about that. She had just picked up Dale from school, by herself for the first time in a while. It had been Caleb's job for a few months and then she'd go with an agent after Caleb locked himself up in his apartment going into his mopey brooding stage over what happened. She honestly didn't blame him, it wasn't his fault. But she knew any attempts from her to get him out wouldn't work. She just had to wait for it to pass.
She could tell that Dale was surprised to see her there picking him up. Josie had finally realized that sure Ward was out but she was a different person now. He couldn't scare her anymore. She was a stronger person now, she had a baby, got off the island, was able to provide for him, made a life for him and all on her own. She did all of that before Adrian even came into the picture. And even with Adrian's added protection she didn't get weaker. If anything she got stronger, she had to talk down angry raging mutants every day. Most people would be afraid of them but she'd stare them down and make them listen. She cracked the hardest of her patients, Caleb was a prime example. So Ward was the furthest thing from her mind when she got home. She sent Dale up to do his homework while she was preparing to go pick up the twins. Before she could grab her jacket the doorbell rang. Who could that be now? They rarely had visitors, maybe it was one of Dale's friends seeing if they can 'help him escape.' She shook her head at that and opened the door.
