Jaden lay quiet for a moment. He looked at the girl he almost ran over recognizing her as Annie. She hadn't freaked out yet. That was a good sign. Maybe she had seen this type of thing before, he thought. Maybe she was like Eden, and she actually liked the idea of powers. He sat up and gave his ankle a quick look before trying to stand. "Yeah," he answered, "If there is any chance you didn't see what happened, I'd be even better." Not that he was embarrassed. Well... that was part of it. He was in high school and Annie was looking especially cute tonight, so it would definitely be a bonus if she didn't see anything.
He got to his feet slowly, testing the ankle on the foot that hit the curb just in case. Everything seemed fine, save for a few scratches and a fair amount of dirt covering his once clean clothes. He then looked at the girl before him. He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and gave the ground his best embarrassed smile. "Hi," he said. He tried to think of anything to say, but nothing good came to mind. "Um... You look nice tonight."
