Having a child at a young age changes people. Or at least that was what people said. Johnny had never been aware of just how much he had changed because of his daughter. Changed for the better. He needed to become more patient, less hostile and far more understanding. He had learned 15 years ago that in order to take care of another life, you needed to make sure you were okay too. And it had taken Johnny a long time for him to be okay.
As he stood at the DJ booth, hovering over his equipment, one ear pressed against a headset, Johnny surveyed the crowd at the club. His eyes automatically spotted all the women with ridiculously revealing outfits, but instead of smirking or oogling them, all he could do was shake his head at them. He thought about his daughter and how he would rather kill her than let her out of the house looking like that. It was a scary thought for a 30-year-old man to be having, but that was how things were.
He returned his attention to his music, casually making a smooth transition between two songs and getting a positive reaction from the crowd. He grinned to himself before glancing over to his left. Someone had been standing there waiting for him. He couldn't really see through the darkness of the club, not even if he squinted a little. Johnny pulled off his headset and moved a little closer so that the person could hear him over the blaring music. "Hey. Got a song request?"
