It was more than just a chore trying to teach little Susie how to ask for things instead of just persuading people to give them to her. What was hardest though was explaining to a seven-year-old that it wasn't nice to just glamor people because you wanted something from them. It was always better to ask. Then, Penny wasn't sure what she would have done if Bast wasn't around. At least he could use her power to cancel out her persuasive tendencies. However, there was nothing on heaven or earth that could persuade her not to eat breakfast for lunch.
"Sure, baby," Penny replied, flipping one over onto her plate. "But don't eat too much or you'll get a tummy ache. Remember last time?" She had a knack for drowning her waffle in syrup.
Susie nodded grimly and went back to the table. That was when Jordan came running into the kitchen. "Noelle Baines is here!" That kid's brain was going to explode one day from how much information he could retain. Penny smiled though and just patted his head as she walked by him to get to the door.
"Ms. Noelle," she said as she made her way out to greet her. "I'm so glad you could make it!"
