It wasn't that Alex wasn't serious about it. He really did want to figure out what was going on in this place and if it was paranormal or not. It was just that Alex felt like he didn't have time for all the textbook explanation of things. He worked better on instinct anyway, even if his instincts often got him into a bit of trouble. He never regretted his actions though. "That's what I figure," he said and just shook his head about the eggs. Breakfast tomorrow was going to be a doozy.
As they were approaching a corner, Alex stopped and held out his arm to hold Dakota back too. He pressed himself against the wall and motioned for Dakota to do the same. "Thought I heard something," he said. "Did... Did it just get colder up in this joint?" He looked behind them and then chanced a peek around the corner. Nothing. But he had definitely heard a sound like footsteps, and the hairs on his arms were standing on end from the cool wind that seemed to have swept over them.
