It was kind of a wonder sometimes that Dakota didn't get fed up with Alex's lack of attention. Then he was the one who was the leader in these expeditions while Dakota just played the faithful follower and assistant. Though in some ways he was also wondering if he took this a little more seriously than Alex did. Perhaps it was also because while Dakota lived her most of the year, Alex had the house somewhere else with his wife and three kids.
