"She?" Okay, so maybe boys and girls weren't all that different, but Nora wasn't used to this sort of behavior when she went out with her girls. Of course, her girls were now adults, but as children, she never recalled an instance where they threw produce at other kids at the supermarket. "No. No damage," Nora replied, feeling thoroughly embarrassed. "And I'm sorry too. It's not every day my Lucas sees such perfectly aerodynamic vegetables to play with at the store with other kids. Even though they are not toys, do you understand me, Lucas?"
"Yes, Mama," Lucas said with the cutest smile he could muster. He looked so much like his dad sometimes.
Nora had to admit that she was a bit defensive of her baby boy despite it all. As much as she loved her two girls, Lucas was the one she had given birth to. So, it went without saying that she had a stronger connection with him than she did with Lucy or Kaylee. "What about you? Did you get hit with any cucumbers?" It was suddenly a very hilarious idea indeed, and Nora couldn't help but laugh a bit. "I never thought I'd be breaking up a cucumber and banana fight at the store. Maybe this calls for a new recipe of sorts?"
