Though on the outside, Nora seemed to be her typical cheery self -- the ever-cordial hostess, the loving mother, wife, and soon to be grandmother, the charitable owner of the theater -- underneath the surface, Nora was nursing a terrible fear. Busily buzzing around, Nora made it a point to do everything possible to forget that encounter with the man who had entered the theater only days prior. She poured out drinks, made sure Johnny had all his things in order and felt comfortable as he played his music, replenished food and just tended to the crowd as best as she could. It was tiring work, but it was also incredibly rewarding if only to see the smiling faces of all those enjoying the night in a safe environment.
They had set up a big projection screen which was showing the New Years Rockin Eve party in NYC, so that they could properly ring in the new year with the rest of their time zone. Nora had been momentarily distracted by the screen as she walked past the children's area. She accidentally bumped into someone, though was relieved to see it was just her husband. "Oh sweetie. I'm so sorry." She kissed his cheek and smiled at him. If he knew her well, which she was sure he did, it was very possible he would notice how distracted she was. A distraction that wasn't entirely attributed to the big screen and the movement of party-goers all around them.
