Who: Dean and Nora (hope it's all right posting this now)
What: Party time. Sort of.
Where: Sapphire Stage
When: December 31, evening
Rating: TBD
New Year's Eve. It wasn't much of a surprise to the regulars of the Stage to find Dean not only present, but doing what he could to ensure that everything was right on track that evening, no hitches and no disasters beyond repair. He had spent the last minutes assuring one of the moms that her little angel (who was already watching another of his fellow playmates with the wolfish sort of look that promised mischief) would be just fine left with all the other kids in the reception area.
It was a small exercise in frustration, but a part of the father in him wanted to give her that comfort and reassurance immediately, even if those knew him best of all would see that the usual perceptive glint in his eyes was somewhat tarnished, the recent flurry of activity on the island and unfamiliar faces driving him to distraction. He didn't understand the extent of what was happening among the scientists, or what they intended to do, and this had been on his mind for too many days now. Waiting was going to end him, and the desire was great to tear down the island to find out if either of his girls was under scrutiny.
He kept his patience long enough with the mom for it to pay off, and she was soon on her way, leaving him to continue on his search for Nora, who he didn't doubt was somewhere nearby surrounded by those complimenting her and lavishing her with attention for such an entertaining evening - and rightfully so.
