Jack's grip on Josie's hand grew tighter as she listened to Josie go on. What she was saying was making her so angry. Ok, Toni was grieving too and had plenty of reason to be sad because his best friend had died, but what he said to Josie was not fair to say to anyone. He had no right to do that and make Josie feel responsible for Alan's death when she had nothing to do with it. She never thought it nice to think ill of the dead but if it was true Alan wasn't a prince either. Jack had liked him for all she knew of him despite his problems. She couldn't help but feel empathetic to Josie's situation. She even almost started to cry herself but knew it was better to be strong for Josie right now so she used everything she could to hold it back.
"You can't do this to yourself, Jos." Jack made sure that she spoke strongly and affirmatively, "You can't hold yourself responsible for what happened because it wasn't your fault, no matter what people say. You had a fight but everyone has fights. You didn't do anything wrong."
