WHO: Kelly & Ray
WHERE: Home
WHEN: Thursday night
Ray's notes sat on the kitchen table on one side, and his math book stood open on the other. The assignment -- a neatly copied row of figures and equations -- sat square in front of him, and Ray's attention was fixed on the bunch of bananas on the kitchen counter. He was counting the spots in a sort of dreamy, lazy way, admiring the browning patterns.
It made him think of giraffes.
And that made him want to doodle a giraffe.
With his pencil in hand, he looked down...and found himself surprised by his incomplete assignment in front of him. All thoughts of the giraffe vanished, and he heaved a sigh.
Worst assignment ever. When was he actually going to need to know geometric proofs?
