WHO: Laney & Ray
WHERE: Some abandoned HS Classroom
WHEN: Thursday, Lunch Hour

The note had been covertly slipped into her locker that morning. It had been hastily scrawled on a piece of notebook paper, more of an after-thought than carefully-devised machinations...but that was just the way Ray was.

Laney Evans. Ray could think of no better accomplice for what he had in mind. It was going to be epic, a tale handed down from generation to generation of genius, of ingenuity, of hilarity...

The room had been chosen with care. Ray knew it was abandoned at lunch, and, better yet, the window panes were covered in gaudy decorations, keeping the room's occupants hidden from those passing by in the hallway.

Peanut butter sandwich half-eaten on the desk in front of him, Ray's attention was focused on the notebook in front of him and the small doodle he was creating in its pages.

Laney never packed a lunch. She was much too lazy for that. And because her mother had to be at school just as early as she did, she never asked. So, when she arrived at the empty classroom, lunch tray in her hands, it was quite obvious why she was a few minutes late.

"Hey. Sorry. Was getting lunch." She gestured the tray and then placed the tray on a nearby desk, turning it until it faced the one Ray was sitting at. She picked up her own sandwich, took and bite and then smiled. "So what kind of prank are we thinking?"

Although Ray had been concentrating on his doodles, the sound of Laney's shoes against the polished floor made Ray look up. Immediately, his face broke into a grin. "Only the most awesome ever! But I have to show you something first."

Jumping to his feet, the teenager leaned out the open door, dramatically looking left, then right, then left again before kicking the wedge out from the bottom side of the door. The door slowly began to whisper shut, and Ray resumed his seat.

Picking up his pencil, Ray studiously returned to his doodling.

"So, you know how some weird things have been happening lately?"

She nodded, chewing her food as she watched him close the door. He was being super sneaky, which really only meant one thing: whatever prank he was working on was against school rules. Of course, Laney had no problem breaking rules, or laws for that matter. But she was always pleasantly surprised when her friends showed the same initiative she did when it came to disobeying the powers that be.

"Weird, how?" She didn't want to let on to her power too much. She still didn't know if everyone had them. Apart from being in J.J's body for a few days, and the chaos that caused, she wasn't sure what else could be considered 'weird'.

"Well, you know."

A moment later, and the tiny doodle was complete. No sooner had Ray filled in the last white splotch than it came to life. The drawing seemed to shift away from the page, taking on a 2D appearance as it tore itself from the notebook into the air above them.

By the time it rose even a few inches, it had become completely 3D, the colored pencil colors taking on a glistening, realistic sheen.

Ray's grin stretched from ear to ear. "Weird."
