Antonio/Emily
Emily was sort of stunned that he dropped the subject. She wasn't used to that. Most people she had dealt with recently wouldn't drop the subject of what was bothering her. Her emotions had just ran a marathon of craziness. Her boyfriend and her broke up, sure it was mutual and sure they started dating because of someone meddling, but still it still was hard. Especially when one still feels...something...for their ex and their ex is there flirting with another girl. What girl wouldn't be in the best mood. But she was thankful he didn't ask. She shot to attention when he mentioned someone running over her dog, "No! No, Irulan is fine, she's at home. No no on ran over my dog." 'But it feels like someone ran over my heart,' she silently added to herself.
She gave another sad little laugh when he mentioned her finding her crowd, "Yeah, I think I must have a radar for these kind of things. The parties that the popular types go to. The parties where girls who have no problem getting a boyfriend go to." She paused as she looked around. Yeah, every girl here was either currently in a relationship or had a least a few in the past. Emily then gave another little laugh, "You must a radar that turns on when I go to these things so you can search me out." She let him talk about finding what makes her happy and blah, blah, blah, she had heard enough of that and didn't want to hear any more however he went a different direction with it. 'Coffee and Alexander Pope?'
"Is that how all college parties are? Wow, now I'm not sure if I want to go anymore," a small smile crept onto her face. Apparently against her will Toni was sort of growing on her. He wasn't that bad and he was sweet to come over and try to cheer her up. Also she was proud of herself for not doing her impression of a tomato yet. She spoke to soon. As soon as he asked her to dance, her cheeks flushed a slight shade of pink. Dance? With him? At a party? Was she really that attractive to boys his age? Maybe that had been her problem so far, she had been pursuing guys either out of college or in high school. Maybe she needed to go after guys already in college. But back to point he seemed to be awaiting a response with his hand out. She finished her drink and threw the cup away. The pink now faded from her cheeks she reached out and took his hand, "Okay."
