Josie watched his expression and he seemed to actually think it over for a bit. She was a little stunned, most boys wouldn't even let her finish the question before saying yes...actually it usually wasn't her who even did the asking out...so this was a new experience all around. But it wasn't like it was a bad thing, just different. His thinking face was kind of adorable she had to admit. Then she got her answer...yes. Her smile widened and she was about to respond when his eyes flicked down to a shelf. She took a step back thinking she might have invaded his personal bubble,
"Yes, good, so you have my number and I have yours so...I'll call you or you can call me and we can work out a time to meet up for our date." Josie glanced down in her basket and ticked off her mental checklist, that would be everything for her SDHBFHFOCGB sundae, "Well, it was nice to see you again Alan, and thanks...for getting the chocolate syrup for me, I appreciate you help." Normally if she had just asked a guy out and he agreed she would give him a peck on the cheek then leave, give them a hint of what was to come. But Alan was different, it's not that she didn't want to give him a kiss on the cheek, she did, but she didn't want to freak him out...if it would...she'd have to do some research. Figure out how far she can go, what makes him uncomfortable, how slow to go with him. She remembered that he was friends with Toni...one of her former FWBs, he'd probably know, she'd have to check. So she gave him a little smile and a little shrug,
"So...talk to you soon, bye." With that she turned and left.
