Alan's supervisor strolled off once Josie started talking again. All she really cared about was that no one complained just so she wouldn't get in trouble. Once she realized Josie was fine with Alan, she left him once more. Alan waved goodbye to his supervisor and thankfully she wasn't looking at him as he did so. He turned back to Josie and smiled. She really was a pretty girl, and Alan could appreciate pretty girls. "Josie Allen," he said as if he was reading her own name off a name tag. Yes, of course he knew her. She was only a year younger and usually the talk of the town.
"Your hair looks nice for the amount of humidity in the atmosphere today." It was the closest thing to a compliment she was going to get considering who she was talking to. Alan wasn't always the smoothest when it came to the ladies, but he was genuinely caring. And when Josie moved closer to him, he didn't even flinch. It was almost as if she hadn't moved at all, or maybe he hadn't noticed the change in distance between them.... or maybe he liked it. "Are you trying to ask me out on a date, Josie Allen?" Forget that she pretty much already had.
