Evan frowned. He did not like being accused. Not one bit. He'd been nothing but loyal to Natalie as long as they'd been together. Not that it was hard, as she was smoking hot and everything he wanted, but he was a pretty desirable guy. It wasn't easy to have to constantly say no to women. This fact, mixed with the notion that he actually was innocent, to an extent, really annoyed him. All that hard work to stay faithful and she didn't even believe him. Honestly, what was the point being in a relationship with no trust? He'd never given her a reason to doubt him.
"I didn't take it," he replied, trying to grasp onto any loophole. He knew if he told her the truth, she'd just think he was lying. And out of sheer stubbornness, he would never offer to let her look into his mind. He had rights to privacy, and all that. And it was just a little humiliating to have to prove himself.
