Wes took the lightbulb with a smile. "Thanks." He climbed back up the ladder, careful not to drop it. He didn't mind cleaning up broken glass, but he'd rather not cause broken glass. He reached the light socket and carefully screwed the bulb in. Then he climbed back down and picked up the fixture and climbed back up. Wes eased it into place and smiled.
He climbed back down and wiped his hands on his pants. "There. That should do it," he said. "Go ahead and try it out." He smiled at Jennifer. It was really pitiful that her husband couldn't be bothered to change a simple lightbulb. The guy really did seem to take the fact that he had a gorgeous wife for granted. Wes certainly didn't take his time near Jennifer for granted. It was special.
