Eisen chuckled. “Well, so are you,” he said softly. Of course, the last time he’d seen Rory date someone was when he’d set him up with Noelle. Maybe, as a best friend, he should have questioned this before, but with no actual evidence, it could be a friendship killer. Eisen simply smoothed his fingers repetitively through Rory’s hair and allowed his lover to curl up against him. “That doesn’t matter, though. Then doesn’t matter. Well, it does, because if not for then…” he trailed off, sleepiness stealing his train of thought away. “We’re here now.” And he’d be there until Rory didn’t want him there anymore.
The Shakespeare quote silenced Eisen as his eyes turned to the ceiling and he enjoyed the feel of having Rory’s warm body leaning against him. Tomorrow. He’d tell Lexie tomorrow. Yes, he dreaded it, because it would likely be harder in practice than it was saying it right now, but it was wrong of him to lie to Lexie… and just as wrong of him to lie to Rory and himself. Tomorrow. They’d deal with it tomorrow.
His last thought was, yet again, how could I have missed it? I love you, Rory, as he let his eyes flutter closed and drifted off to sleep.
