There was no ‘are you sure’ to worry about. Nothing like that. Eisen was generally not impulsive, and even though this seemed impulsive, he was definitely no less sure that it was what he wanted. Maybe he should have been hesitant. But he didn’t care. Rory was just so… Eisen loved him. Rationality and love usually had very little to do with one another, and Eisen was completely aware that maybe this wasn’t the best decision.
But that didn’t make it the wrong one. He lifted his hand, smoothing it across the soft skin of Rory’s cheek, meeting his best friend’s bright eyes with a gentle smile. He’d never, ever seen that look in his eyes before. It was… it was vulnerable, but not in a bad way. And that sold him. Sometimes logic just needed to lose the day. Such was the case here and Eisen was perfectly okay with this moment of weakness. “I’m sure,” he spoke softly, his voice a little lower than Rory had probably ever heard it before. He pulled Rory close and kissed him again, and he instantly became aware of how different this felt… but also of how good it felt. The concept should have been strange to him, but for once, Eisen couldn’t bring himself to care.
Eisen’s mind was buzzing. Millions of thoughts coursed around at once, disallowing him to settle on even one, and maybe that was exactly why he needed this. Kissing Rory right now was easy to focus on. Not only that, but he felt it down in his very core and it just felt good, despite the jackhammering speed of his heart. Maybe that should have drilled a point home into his head, but he didn’t want to think right now. He just wanted to keep going.
The hand that had made a comfortable spot resting against Rory’s cheek finally moved, sliding up into his hair and he very lightly cradled the back of his head.
