Elaine appreciated her daughter's candor with her. It was nice to have someone else who shared her opinions of her youngest daughters. Her husband, after all, was far too forgiving of their short-comings...
"You've become such a responsible young woman," Elaine answered with a smile that, for her, could be considered open. "Thank you for looking after the girls. I never had to wonder where you would be or what sort of call I'd be getting."
She opened the door and stepped to the side, allowing Eden to enter first. As the door quietly closed behind them, Elaine gestured for her daughter to lead the way -- they were here for her, after all.
"But enough about them. This day is supposed to be about you. Now, I don't want any arguments, Eden. I want to buy something nice for you to wear so that you aren't forced to make due with some of this cheap crap."
