Eden smiled at her mother's vote of confidence. "I'm skipping the 'Singles Awareness' thing. There won't be as many people, and it will be a smaller space."
She paused, mostly for effect. "And I believe Georgiana is going to that. Gloriana is going to the dance, but with a bigger space we have fewer chances of bumping into each other. And that means if she does anything embarrassing, I have a greater chance of not having to know about it while I'm out." Since Eden had grown up, she'd become more frank and open with her mother about her disdain for the adopteds. They were on the same page about them, after all.
"As for a call, I half expect someone else to call you about Georgiana. If it comes to choice between having her land herself in the ER or collecting her myself and dropping her off at home, I'll collect her." It wouldn't be pleasant, but it was better than having to deal with the world knowing about whatever it was. Or having to tend to Georgiana as a patient.
