Who: Jen Evans and Wes Garrett
When: After school
Where: Math classroom
What: This
Rating: Not too high ;)
It was the end of the day, and Jen had a class of mostly Juniors in her room. She had lectured for the first half of the class and then allowed them to group up and work on their homework as a team only if they promised to keep their voices down. She often liked spicing things up like this. Math was a difficult subject for most to learn on their own, so often, it was a good idea to let them congregate and figure things out as a group. They could talk low if they wanted as long as they worked, and they could also learn from each other.
Jen had busied herself by erasing down her board and arranging some scattered papers on and around her desk. Then, she began grading quizzes from various classes. The worst part of these quizzes was trying to understand the handwriting. These kids were all either future doctors or just had the worst penmanship in the history of ever. And if she couldn't figure out what a number was, it was wrong. Served them right for writing chicken scratch on a math quiz.
By the time she had made it halfway through her papers, having to quiet down the class only once or twice as the noise level began to escalate, the bell finally rang to dismissed them all for the day. "Remember to review your notes. We're going to have a quiz on this on Friday." She stood at the students began to file out of her room, catching sight of one student in particular. "Wes? Do you think you could stay behind? I have to discuss your last test with you."
