It was a blow to hear Amelia had been aware of her power for about a year and hadn't told him, and that probably showed on his face before he could mask it. Gio, however, did realize that it was a huge deal. He didn't think Amelia hadn't told him because she didn't trust him, just as he wasn't mentioning names of other people with powers because he thought Amelia would go blabbing to everyone else. It was all so much more complicated than trust … but still. He would have been there for her, and maybe if she'd told him that long ago he would have been able to help Calvin with his power, too.
He wanted to ask if he was the first person she'd told, but Gio kept that question to himself. It was borne out of insecurity that he knew was unwarranted. The order Amelia told things to didn't necessary dictate how much she liked them, and he reminded himself of that as he finished off his ramen and piled his dish in Amelia's at the side of the table. He was also finished with his drink, so he pushed his glass over there, too.
The subject of PMS wasn't something that would make Gio go 'ewww' and make a face about – at least not in the physical realm. Mentally, sure, but he had some sensitivity. Though he had no sisters and his mother didn't talk about woman-problems, most of Gio's friends were girls. They certainly talked about those kinds of things (that time of the month, Aunt Flo, a special gift, etc.), and more often than he liked. Eventually, maybe, Gio would get a girlfriend and have to pick up some tampons for her, so he figured he needed to get used to it. "Maybe...." was all he said on that subject.
"You're welcome. I'm glad I could tell you that you're not alone with one hundred percent confidence. If you go ahead and reveal your power to another couple of our friends you'll probably get to see someone demonstrate something for you." Gio mentally willed Amelia to tell Sasha, as she was the human magnet he was talking about. Sasha had even agreed to tell Glory about her power without protesting, so he was sure when Amelia confessed Sasha would put her mind at ease.
As for not having his own power.... "Maybe I have one, but for now I haven't noticed anything different than usual."
