Amelia couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Of course it came as a surprise that people didn’t have the same power as her, but completely different and a lot more dangerous. Though, it would have been cool to be able to walk through walls. But hurting yourself by accidently falling through the floor wouldn’t be on the cool radar anymore. She did think her thoughts over before actually saying one of those powers sounded cooler than what she was experiencing. She actually didn’t even think it was a power before Gio started calling it that.
She really didn’t know how to respond to what he was saying. Besides doing the obvious shrugging of her shoulders and nodding to agree with him. She did whisper then, though she didn’t know if he heard her or not. It didn’t bother her if he didn’t. “It really doesn’t make sense… And I guess it doesn’t sound abnormal anymore…” It also didn’t bother her that he sort of ignored her then. Amelia could see that he was thinking of something, and for a second, she wanted to know what was going on in that head of his.
If only she had the power to read minds. No, no, that wouldn’t be all that cool either. God, the things she would read from her parents mind would make her sick. Blah!
Seeing a hand in her peripheral vision made her thoughts whirl out the window for now and pay attention to her friend once again. Amelia didn’t hear at first what he was saying, but she got the general idea of it, and it made her smile. Corny or not, it still calmed the chaos that would easily been set off just by her thinking of something completely random. One of her hands moved up from her lap, reaching out toward the one offered toward her but pausing when she was a few inches away from her. It was silly of her to poke the middle of his palm with her index finger, but she wanted to make sure she wouldn’t cause the shock of the century. “Yeah, I don’t know if I want to turn you into my own personal electric chair. Sounds cool, but I’ll have a hard time explaining it to the parents when they find you smoking on the floor.” She had to laugh or else she would be freaking out.
