Amelia continued to listen to Gio as she munched away on her meal, enjoying it to the very last bite. Though she waited to finish it completely because who knows when she’ll get allowance to enjoy a meal like this again. She tried to keep her thoughts far away from that.
Smiling, and even laughing, felt good after what her mind was going through. She could always count on Gio supplying the giggles when she needed it the most. It was like that ever since they were young. Whatever mood she was in, since she couldn’t categorize it right now, it felt a little odd for her to even laugh in a situation like this. But, maybe it was a good thing.
Well, it was, until hearing what her friend said. What was left in her bowl was ignored, as she finally looked up toward Gio with a shocked expression. Amelia couldn’t believe what she heard. There were a lot of people on the island that weren’t human? Of course they were. But they could do things normal human beings couldn’t do. That made her instantly blurt out what was on her mind, but quieter so only Gio could hear. “You mean, a lot of people can create electricity? They can turn a light bulb on by just touching it? Sometimes I fear I might hurt someone by touching them if I do something wrong.” Once again she looked down. Her chopsticks were discarded on the paper they came in. Luckily there wasn’t a lot left in her bowl, or else she wouldn’t be happy with herself for not finishing it because she lost her appetite all of a sudden.
