Amelia could have done the same thing with going on and on about the whole Ice Age thing, but she really didn’t want to; due to the fact that wasn’t why she was here. She knew she couldn’t bore Gio with her nonsense jabber. Come to think about it, she probably never has.
She didn’t know what to start with first – noodles or beef? Well, to be silly, and so like Amelia. She allowed her chopsticks to do the ‘talking’ so to speak and aim for the first thing they wanted. With a piece of beef clamped tightly between the wooden sticks, she leaned down and tore off as much as she could. While she was chewing on her food, Amelia had to cover her mouth with her occupied hand because of what Gio said. She didn’t want to start laughing and choke or spit her food out, and make them both not want to finish their lunch. Well, she probably would because she hasn’t eaten anything until now.
“No, no, I didn’t,” she finally replied with after calming down and swallowing the chewed food. Noodles were about to be captured by her chopsticks this time, but for the time being, she played with them by trying to make a noodle tower in her bowl. Her mother would be yelling at her by now to not play with her food. But that wasn’t the point. It made her smile, though. “At least I don’t think I was. Could aliens make you do things you didn’t think a human being could do?” she started. Finally picking up some noodles and shoving them in her mouth. Another warning from her mother started in her mind while she tried to speak with food in her mouth. “I mean, like, doing something really freaky by… I don’t know.”
Amelia had to stop herself. It wasn’t because she had food in her mouth, although that’s what it looked like. She did chew her food and swallowed it within that time, instead of keeping it in her mouth and looking like a chipmunk.
