"Oh – hey," Gio stammered, at first surprised by Amelia's sudden presence, but he quickly recovered. The bell on the door nor the greeting Amelia had received upon entering the small restaurant had awoken him from his thoughts, but he was glad she was there now. It wasn't fun to think about things he couldn't explain, especially when all the science he'd ever learned seemed completely against the possibility of whatever was going on.
Amelia looked normal. She'd seemed to be in an okay state of mind lately, and really the only thing Gio could find wrong with her was that she looked freezing cold. That wasn't anything to be worried about; they were in the very warm, comforting environment of their favorite noodle eatery, and they would order and be served steaming noodles very soon indeed. It was just like normal. The usual. Mundane. It was simple.
"I waited for you to order," Gio said, closing out the game on his phone before he slipped it into his pocket and turned his attention to the menu on the table. Being an adventurous eater, Gio had ordered most of the dishes on the menu already, but he was going to go with something tried and true that day. He didn't feel like experimenting.
