Amelia really wanted to hang out with Gio. She does. But when she wants to talk about something that bothered her to the core… Well, she was scared to leave her bedroom, even after she got dressed for the weather. She sat at her desk, staring at her bedroom door and contemplating on going or not. She was chewing at her bottom lip to the point it almost bleed. That’s how worried she was.
But she wasn’t the type of friend that would flake on a friend, even after saying something weird has been going on. Weirder than she would like.
She sucked it up with a loud huff of air and grabbed her shoulder bag and phone before leaving her bedroom. She told her parents the day before where she was going, so there was no need to shout toward them that she was leaving. The door shutting behind her was a clear enough answer.
It was so freaking cold out she had to pull her favorite hoodie hood up and cover her white head and use her scarf to cover her lips so they wouldn’t chap. Maybe walking to her favorite noodle joint was a stupid idea, but how else was she going to get there? Her mother was busy doing whatever. And her father was helping out in some way – whipped much? She loved her father to bits, really. But when he does whatever her mother wanted, Amelia wondered if the man had a mind of his own.
Thinking about her parents actually helped calm her down as she quickly made her way toward town. Her teeth clattering together were the music she had for right now. Pulling her cell phone out would have been too much effort because her fingers were freezing; even in the pockets of her jacket. She wanted to text Gio, telling him she was like a foot away from the place, but she didn’t want to move her fingers. Hopefully the bell going off when the door opened and the owner shouting her way would give her up easily.
She waved hello toward the man behind the counter as she pulled her hood down, shaking her head and letting all that white hair fly about before positioning itself to how she styled it. Spotting Gio was easy and without having someone ask where she wanted to sit, she made her way over to him with a bright smile. “Apologizes for being a little late,” she said as she sat down across from him, sliding her coat off and putting it off to the side for now.
